Hey - Just want to understand is the processing speed depends upon the office location ? I saw few comments regarding the processing center. Just want to understand what difference it makes in overall process ?

Recently i didn't upload any document. and there is an update on my account as well under ADR "'

Hi. My file got transferred from Ottawa VO to Sydney VO. Then I got an email saying they successfully received my document. Also I see the update in my profile "December 10, 2020 We are reviewing the additional documents you provided". So, I am exactly in the same situation.

Here is my understanding. Application got transferred from Ottawa to Sydney due to heavy workload in Ottawa. At Sydney VO, they finally started processing the additional document I submitted almost 60 days back (Canadian PCC). Hopefully, criminality check would be completed soon.

Most banks here require you to be physically present to verify a number of details (proof of address, proof of identity, and your SIN number)

You could try Tangerine, which is a subsidiary of Scotiabank and operates online - https://www.tangerine.ca/en/products/spending/chequing-account/

Of course it does, SIN in Canada and SSN in USA are required for financial related stuff. Even if they let you open an account you should provide SIN after a week or so. It is required by law.
