Man! that's what I am wondering too. They received my application on April 16, and emailed an acknowledgment letter on May 8. Since then, there have been no updates whatsoever and its been almost a month since I got the acknowledgement letter.

I believe 30 days is a pretty short period of time for the case to move to "In Process"

Looking at the April 2015 tracker, your case is pretty standard and has not fallen behind and it maybe a few weeks (if not more) before the file will reach the "In Process" stage

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF AUSTRALIAN AND CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS
AUSTRALIA CANADA
HDI INDEX - VERY HIGH HDI INDEX - VERY HIGH
GREAT COUNTRY TO LIVE IN ANOTHER AWESOME NATION
CITIZENSHIP PROCESS:ONLINE AND SUPER EFFICIENT CITIZENSHIP PROCESS: ON PAPER AND CUMBERSOME
Take a look for yourselves:

AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION PROCESSING TIMELINE: APPROX. 3 - 4 MONTHS
Here is a recent example of someone who acquired AUS Citizenship:

1/11/2014: apply online and received acknowledgement email immediately
4/11/2014: invitation to sit for the test
25/11/2014: test taken, was advised I had passed and just needed to wait for the ceremony
Early December: notification of the grant of citizenship, awaiting ceremony which could be between 3-6 months
Mid January 2015: invitation to attend ceremony via post
23/2/2015: citizenship ceremony

Now take a step back and compare it to the Canadian process, if this individual were to be in Canada, then he might have received his document by the end of 2016. So, lets Look at the Canadian Process:

1/11/2014: apply on paper and received acknowledgement email 2 months later
4/11/2015: invitation to sit for the test
25/11/2015: test taken, was advised I had passed and just needed to wait for the ceremony
Mid June 2016: invitation to attend ceremony via post
23/7/2016: citizenship ceremony

Like come on what's up with that...

If the e-cas is active and shows the status as "received". Does that mean that my application is complete and no chance of being returned back to me?

That's right. Agreed, its heavy duty when one applies for PR (again 100% online!) - like any other country, for that matter. Post that, for Citizenship process, its just a matter of inputting information from PR to Citz - which is also verified, all by the Government. Awesome controls they have - the citz process is indeed a PLEASURE, for what one embarks upon, to be an Australian. With Canada, some how, this is strenuous, tiring, lot of unknowns, hell a lot of delays, and what not!
Unfortunately, Canada does not seem to have controls in place, neither the budget to implement the controls, so in practice the prospective immigrants are probably not the best of interest for the Govt.

Well that said, each country has its priorities. If I could have been influencing them, I wouldn't be sitting here typing this note!

Some CIC office seems to have woken up from sleep! ;) or probably returned from beach sun. 8) You got yours before it merged itself into the heap of dust on his/her table.

eitherways, happy for you - congratulations!

At least guys, you got the AOR. No worries about the application get returned.
Be patient, some time they don't update the e-cas. It happened to me in the PR, I got the immigration visa and still have received in my e-cas.

I recently got my Australian Citizenship(21May) and the whole process took close to 4 months. On the other hand it has been 7 months since my wife has applied for Canadian Citizenship and she has by luck reached to fingerprinting stage. Very inefficient and slow system Canada has to offer.
