Thanks AMISNIC. Do you think how long does it take for Security and Criminality check. Our PCC from our Country will expire on April 22, 2015.

If you have all your PCC in then from your last GCMS notes (i.e. the date they were generated) it is only a matter of a couple of months.

You should be in by 22 April

My other concern is my Passport will expire on DEC 15, 2015. I have not renewed it yet. Is it still good?
Thanks a lot.

You will be ok on the passport front, it only needs 6 months validity left.

This is because I have worked 8 months at 2013 and 4 months at 2014

I am confused too and I believe the VO is also confused.

So do something to take out the confusion - e.g; salary of 40k and T4 showing 28k, etc.

As it stands your employment does not look genuinely complying

Explain this to CIC, no point telling me, you have a Masters??????

They didn't ask for any particular document, but I printed my last pay stub and 1 bill with my current address in Canada. All the questions were normal such us:

1) Where did you get your work permit? Where did you land firstly when you came to Canada? Where do you work? What is your profession? (1st officer)
2) Have you been convicted or in jail? Do you bring any goods with you? (2nd officer)

And... that was pretty much everything. I don't have dependants with me, so maybe they will ask more questions if you are accompanied.

Hope to see your PPR soon man! All the best.

Thanks Maxmoore!!!

HI Pynk_0915,

Couple of weeks ago I have called CIC regarding the same question about passport expiration.
The officer told me that it does not matter when your passport will expire, as long as it is valid at the moment you do your land.

=)

What validity means in the context of passports and travel is "at least 6 months till expiry".

Not necessarily...mine was only about 5 months valid, when I sent it to CIC and they stamped it with the visa until August, as my PP expires this August. I have sent it in mid-March and got it back end of March.

If you are currently in Canada, you might get away with CIC, even if you have less than 6 months validity.
But if you are outside Canada, then yes, they will insist on having at least 6 months - 1 year of validity, to give you more time to land in Canada.

Canadiian.

In my case, they asked me new/valid passport copy and passport will be expired in November 2015.

Anyway, I got new passport in 3 weeks and updated to CIC. After, 10 days(yesterday) I got ready for visa mail.

It is depends on VO whether they wants new passport or new.

Just a generic Q.
CIC provide visa stamp for 5 Year validity irrespective of PP expiry date?
As of I know It issue visa for 5 year not till the validity of PP.

The issue is whether one is an "In Canada" applicant or "Out of Canada" applicant.

If in Canada then it does not matter as long as your PP is valid, however, if out then to travel one needs at least 6 months on their passport.
