Friend of mine got a test invitation 2 weeks ago. He had "In Process" status but there was one more line inside with something like "we sent you a test invitation.. test date. if you didn't get it please call this number...". He is mid-Summer 2012 applicant. Test was scheduled within 12 days from the date he got this invitation mail.

When I checked on Friday, I didn't see anything. But I just checked now and I see and eCAS update that they mailed me a notice on 11/14 to take my test on 11/30.

solnshko, I also applied from Vanocuver, finally someone from Vanocuver!!! YEaa!
So I applied on April 22, 2013. They strated my process since July 8. I received my book in August. Yesterday I received a mail with originlal documenets that I sent them to support my application. So I think they just sent back the documnets they don't need
I called cic, the agent told me that they started to check my file since October 28, but it's not done yet. She also mentionned that Vancouver office is the busy one, so I should expect 12 months from time they send my documnets to Vancouver to get a test date..

I will call them next week to see if there is any update!
why don't you call them?

Btw my friend, who is immig.agent said that, as I'm going to leave CA only for couple months and I'm going to come back and continue my life here in CA, there should not be a problem. I just need to explain it to judge properly when he asks me questions. He has to be convinced that I'm planning to make my life here in Canada, which is the case.

Hi sheb, thanks for the update! Do you mind to share your timeline? I applied in May 2012 and my file is in process since January 2013 : my file was transferred in April and still waiting for my test :'( In my case we are away for a bit longer, maybe 2 years (according to CIC we are allowed to live outside for up to 3 years ). We are definitely going back to settle in Canada, to our lovely Ottawa.

The sad part is, applicants who applied after me already got their test dates, for some even waiting for oath, I do not understand why am I still waiting, I am getting so concerned now :-X

Here is my timeline:
5-13-2013 Sent Application
7-29-2013 In process
I called this morning and my file is still in the transitioning to local office. Look like gona wait for a couple a month then.

My parents are in Vancouver office. I posted their timeline earlier.
They both applied in April 2013
Online status for both: Received on April 4, 2013 (sent you a letter acknowledging....)

The next part is different for both of them:
Father: We started processing your application on June 24, 2013
Mother: We started processing your application on October 24, 2013.

We maid payment for both applications in one payment.
We mailed both packages in one "big" envelope.

My mother called CIC on Nov. 5 and the agent said file is still in Sydney.
I wonder if he noticed that they did not update info??? and added it.
