Well if you managed to escape the RQ from Sydney, then I guess you are good bro. because you will have more face to face opportunity to present your case and justify the travel. So having solid reasons and solid evidence will more likely prevent the issuance of RQ.

Hope so. But I know I'm not in the clear... I read some cases of people getting RQ right before or on their exam date.

I feel my evidence/reasons are good. Basically I was in a long distance relationship for a few years and I traveled a lot to the US to see her (now my wife). The proof is that I sponsored my wife to Canada and she landed last month. So i won't be going back to the US since the main reason to go is living with me here. If I can explain that face-to-face, I'm sure that would be a good justification.

So looks like even if you dont live in Mississauga, your file can still be transferred there....which is good. Everyone says they are fast.

Yeah i understand, thats okay. You must have got the letter from Mississauga so I believe it will be dated at the max a week behind when you received the letter.

Man its impressive, if you get through this test without any RQ, by next March you should have oath...

I have never heard of a situation where the agents ask about the reasons of travel. I believe that we had our shot to explain in the application. If I recall properly, there was a column for REASON next to DESTINATION.

yeah totally agree on that. you can convince someone more efficiently when you are face to face rather than submission of papers.....

your case will have to be really complicated to get an RQ, else full time employment in a reputed company and other things will make you look good

The person who should worry I guess, it's me -they started working on our file on July 4 and our file was transferred to Mississauga on October 3 and there's no test invite yet.

Yeah did list reasons for each trip. But the space is small so I basically wrote "Visit family for Christmas" or "Visit girlfriend". Not much of an explaination

I wouldn't worry about your application. For whatever reason I seemed to be fast. From what I have read, the timelines can be pretty variable.

Yeah I was a strange one. Came to Canada on a work visa sponsored by by company in 2001. My original plan was to work in Canada for a few years and then return to the US where all my family is. But during that time I grew to really like living in Canada and eventually around 2008, I finally decided that Canada has become my home and I was not going to go back. So I applied for Permanent Residence then and got PR in 2009. Many people I know are still surprised I am not Canadian since I've lived here so long and pretty much lost my American accent and blended in so well.

I would take all possible proof - T4s, bank statements, etc. Do not worry, everything will be just fine.

Please do share the date of your test and the date the letter was issued.

The letter is dated November 14th. The test is on November 30th in Mississauga.
