Hi,
Has any one, from the April applicants, received any response?
How about you Chia_88? as our applications were received on the same day.
Thanks

Just saw the March 2013 spreadsheet and they have just gone through the batch of people who applied around March 16-18. AOR should be coming soon. Expect maybe first or second week of May

First, wait for your AOR. After 1-2 weeks of receiving AOR, track it here > http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp

I mailed out my application package on APR 26th. I guess I should report to this post.
Got quite a lot of information here. I'll share my progress in the future then.

Hi everyone!

I have been reading this forum for a while - it's so helpful to read experiences from others, especially because I don't personally know anyone who has gone through the same process.

After starting the LMO process with my employer (and them canceling it last minute - great), I was finally able to send in my CEC application last week. It was received yesterday on April 29, which means I just fit in with the April 2013 applications group here :-) Could anyone please add me to the tracking list?

I have to say, I am incredibly stressed out about the whole process. Unfortunately my current work permit (IEC YP) is due to expire on May 24... which means that I more than likely won't receive my AOR on time. Now I have read that some of you have sent the BOWP application with a cover/explanatory letter anyway and have gained implied status. I will probably go that route as well so that I can buy myself some more time and -hopefully- find a new employer that is willing to apply for LMO for me.

I'm excited to be part of this forum and hopefully we'll be able to help each other out! And of course, if anyone has any tips for my situation... any help is GREATLY appreciated! ;)

Hi, I dont think so that you need to apply for LMO again. Just send out your BOWP application with explainatory letter and even before this, you should apply for Visitor permit. CEC eligibilty requires valid work experience with valid status, but after sending out your application, you can stay on visitor visa till your AOR comes and you apply for BOWP. This is my thought, but seniors can suggest you better. good luck

Hi BK11... If I change my status to visitor, I won't have a valid work permit anymore and therefore won't be eligible for a BOWP. Others have advised me to apply for my BOWP without AOR (but with explanatory letter) while my permit is still valid - about 2 weeks before expiry, and then continue living/working here on implied status. The CIC agent I talked to yesterday wasn't able to confirm that my BOWP application would be successful, but he did say that I would get implied status and could continue working until they'd make a decision.

Technically it doesn't sound right. Because BOWP won't be approved before your work permit expired even you submit it now. So you don't have a valid status in Canada in that matter. And I really doubt the "implied status" exists.
I think you still can submit BOWP with AOR and explain them. Of course there's possibility they reject it but still worth to try.
I think it's only if you want to take the risk of staying here waiting for BOWP even when your work permit expired.

Hi gong, I talked to a CIC call center agent and he confirmed that you're on implied status until you receive a decision on your BOWP application. However, he did mention that if it gets refused, you'll have to restore your status and pay the fee.

LCM21 you're on the right track.. STICK TO THE PLAN!! :P
