Now I wonder how long does it take to update the E-cas status... still in my file it does not show anything.

Police Clearance Certificate-- Need Help
I am citizen of INDIA and I moved to US in 2002 to do my Masters Education and since 2002 I was in US on F1 visa and then worked in US on H1-B visa. I exhausted my H1-B quota of 6 years and came to Canada in 2011. I have applied for Canada Immigration under CEC. I am network engineer working in reputed IT company full time on work permit.
I have submitted my FBI finger print results and Canadian Reliability security clearance but not police clearance certificate.
Please let me know if Police Clearance Certificate from INDIA is must for CEC application ?

hey srikant yes it is must and u can apply ur indian pcc at BLS office u will get ur pcc in 2 week

Yes you need Indian police clearence certificate too. If the applicant used to live and work in any other countries more than 6 months he needs to submit the police clearence each country where he work,Study.

By the time I got my AOR, e-CAS was activated.

I was due to get it today, haven't received it yet but...my CC just got charged! so I'm happy

That's definitely promising! Good news. So they charge the cc whenever they feel like it (inconsistent as always ) and sounds like there is no steady pattern. Hey celle17, thats very nice to hear! In my case I included an online receipt so I dont get any indication on my credit card account. Anyways no other choice, I will just have to wait.
