I’m currently in the UK with my son, awaiting our asylum appeal hearing. We both hold ARC (Application Registration Cards) and do not have passports or national ID documents from our country of origin.
I’ve recently become eligible for Express Entry and am preparing to submit my PR application to Canada.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation ; specifically
• Were you in the UK asylum system (with ARC) when you applied for Canadian PR?
• How did you handle the lack of travel documents or passport
• Did IRCC accept ARC and UK-issued documents (e.g. NHS letters, school records, solicitor correspondence)?
• Were you able to complete biometrics and medicals in the UK?
