Friends, I have 2 more days for my landing. Getting kind of nervous now. Friday 10:20 PM I would be landing in Toronto. Those who have completed their landing procedure, please let me know what all I need to take with me. I have been following some landing threads and believe I have got everything ready for landing. Still, trying to be 100% sure..

other than what you read here and there, you should prepare for the "Canada beauty", again I mean naturally and spiritually... Also, watch out some hot girl out there . Let us know your first experience landing there as a PERMANENT RESIDENCE.

Pasi, I have landed on Canada on 29th of July, 2010 through Port Erie around 10 pm. Immigration officer asked me whether I wanted to land on that day because I have both work permit visa and Immigration visa. I informed him that I wanted to land on Canada as PR. Immigration officer asked me to go to a small room. Another immigration officer took my pictures for PR card. He asked the proof of fund. I had the letter handy from my bank. It took me 20-30 mins to complete the procedure. Both immigration officers are very friendly. I also had to declare that I don't have any criminial record. I asked him whether can I get Tim Horton coffee as a new immigration. Immigration officer asked me whether I am as addicted as the rest of the Canadians. lol!!!

Finally i have an update to share and not a query to post
I got my medical request yesterday - 11th August...exactly 90 days after my file was transferred to NY from Buffalo (11th May 2010). I recall my letter stated that the visa office will not be able to provide with any status updates during this time. The medical documents were dated 5th Aug 2010.

I was able to get my medicals done today - I enquired the person doing the X-ray about the time it will take for the x-ray to reach the doctor and he mentioned 4 days. So i gues is the doctor will wait till the x-ray reports show up at his office and then send the entire package to Ottawa.

Finally a progress on my case!!

I recieved my PPR this morning via email.

I believe Los Angeles has started sending out request for passport stamping. So for those whose file was transferred to LA, keep on checking your email!
