Hi Everyone,
We are family of 3, and our AOR is on 5 Dec 2019 . Just two days ago, my 3 years old son's teacher told us to check with specialist as my son can't sit still for longer, and can't really follow class activities !00% ,and he tends to do what he like. Teachers suspect mild Autism or ADHD.
So, we are worrying for that , and waiting for doctor appointment. Mean while we are trying hard to train him too.
Beside that he is very clever, happy ,curious, active, good social boy.
But i would like to know , what if doctor said that he has some concentration problem , What should we do?
'How can we let CIC know? What should we expect after that?
Please someone help me answer. Thanks

My AOR was Dec 31,2018 and we received the golden mail in Aug 9. One month and 9 days more than average. You can request GCMS notes to know in detail the status of the application
Sorry for the delay. I requested the GCMS Notes when 6 and a half months had elapsed. The documents indicated that the file had been sent to the CMAU, this is the unit that is responsible for evaluating these cases (Autism, Down Syndrome, etc). They are also responsible for authorizing the application of temporary policy. I had already read the policy and knew that it was the right steps and that it was only a matter of waiting to receive approval.

I read full thread from page 1 to 8 and found posts on children medical issues since 2012 to 2020.
We applied 3 months ago for PR under SINP paper based category when our one child was just 1 month old. On a routine checkup of baby at the age of 3 months pediatriton diagnosed baby is having no eye contact and social Smile that could be the early signs of many disorders or disabilities e.g. Cerebral Palsy, Autism, ADHD, Epilepsy, etc. But it's to early to diagnose the right problem.
We are expecting our medicals in December 2020 to Feb 2021 and our child will be almost 12 to 14 months old at that time. I think New law ammendments in 2018 are specifically for disabled dependent children of immigrants and threshold limit enhanced from $665 to$102,585 over 5 years (or $20,517 per year) . I was wondering how The Centralized Medical Admissibility Unit assess the expected cost of any child's health and social services in comparison of current threshold.
I found two documents so far one for Cerebral Palsy and second for Autism.
In 2011 a legal review case was filed in High Court Canada and in detailed reply to court Immigration Medical Examination department submitted expected cost breakup of 3 years old moderate to sewear cerebral palsy disordered child having very visible disabilities physical and psychological. Following is the complete para of the the officer.
"The IME Summary identified the following estimates of specific costs of services that Jordan would likely require: (i) participation in an Early Intervention Program for three years ($20,250); (ii) special education costs once he reached school age ($112,000); (iii) respite care over a 10-year period ($24,000); (iv) wheelchair costs ($6,500 to $8,000); and, (v) physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy."
In second reference that is the speech and instructions of immigration ministry he clearly addresses that autism disorder is no more bearer for kids to enter in Canada further he addresses that special educational cost is also excluded from the current threshold limits. That means if we consider the case 1 costs estimated by medical unit in 2012 special education cost was the major burden that is now exclude from the threshold.
Words of minister as follows:
After Monday’s announcement, Canada will no longer consider certain costs when deciding if someone can come to Canada – such as special education costs for children with intellectual disabilities. The government said it will also triple the cost threshold for denying someone based on medical conditions to nearly $20,000 a year.
In making the announcement, Hussen said Canada will no longer consider people with a disability as a “burden” when they apply to immigrate."
Hope it will help all of the pending applicants to calculate the urden cost of our kids according to current threshold limits.
In my particular case what's your opinion at the age of 1 year will medical officers take my kids's any delayed development very seriously as at the age of 1 year as all such expected disorders actually diagnosed minimum at the age of 2 years although symptoms can be observed earlier but again no doctor can conclude the final diagnosis at the age of 12 months. Waiting for your reply.

Can you please share exactly what was your dependent status?
my son is moderate asd.
we are so stressed now.
No need to worry about ASD, ADHD, CP ETC. law has been changed and there is a big big big financial caution available to accommodate applicants with special kids.

He was checked 2 times in 2 different hospitals in Canada and the result was negative.

I have a strong faith and hope that the 2018 new laws and procedures will apply for everyone here. We are CEC applicants too and I have 3 kids, one of them has autism. We have submitted all the necessary docs we have on hand such as report cards in Canada, and the docs we submitted when we first came to Canada (the Dev Ped report, Psychologist report, school report and the OT report). The doctor photocopied all docs I brought with me and told me that she is going to submit all docs and just in case IRCC requests for additional documents, they will reach out to me. I am hoping for a positive result as my kid attends regular school with IEP intervention.
I know and I understand the worry of each parent/guardian here so I decide to share mine to encourage you all not to worry and pray and hope God will do all the rest.

We applied for pr in June 2019 and did our medical on june 2020.
My son is almost 4yrs old and have high functioning autism (ASD).
I tried to ask my consultant and the clinic that we did the medicals about if we can get refused because of it but i didn't receive clear answer.
Please advice.
