I just called CIC. They said that the security check is incomplete. People with similar timelines have received PPR. However, all of the people that are getting PPR these days are the ones whom have been rejected before and this is they're second or third time applying. Could it be that some steps of security check is simply bypassed since they have it from they're previous applications?

This is not quite right actually. One of my friend submitted application on 1st of Aug and recvd on 3r august. They got the PPR on Feb and landed on 10th March. For your information it was their first application. It might be due to security check which delay the processing but not necessery to be 2nd or 3rd application.

First of all my friend, please don't share ur personal information in such an open space. There r several applican'ts who face this situation and from Quebec just check in few pages back. I don't remember specifically. Good luck

I wonder what number or contact information from CIC you are dialing to reach them?

I honestly doubt CIC call center agents are giving you such information about security screening by phone.

Call center agents cannot access your file, all they can see is the general information you also see when checking your eCAS status.

There are a few comments here from people saying that they called CIC and that security checks are incomplete or not started or delayed. Honestly, I do NOT believe these comments are true.



Call center agents will only be able to access your file once you become a permanent resident and they can therefore check the status of your PR card application.

I called CIC today morning and the agent told me that they are doing some background check,... on my application and I have to wait. I asked if the eligibility is passed and he answered it is still in process.

My conclusion is that they have put aside October applications and it is not clear if they are going to resume anytime soon.

Call centre agents have access to your immigration file's details if your case is being processed inside Canada.

I wonder what number or contact information from CIC you are dialing to reach them?

I honestly doubt CIC call center agents are giving you such information about security screening by phone.

Call center sure has access to your file though only through real-time GCMS notes. So instead of ordering for the notes and wait 30 days you can get the info from note by call. When I called there were some comments he made that made me believe he has access.
