Many of us are June applicant and no PPR yet. However, the last post before you belongs to unruffledterry, who has almost the same situation as you. Good luck and hope you get your PPR soon.

Thanks and good luck to everyone.......

Anything in the response the rest of us might benefit from?

Unfortunately, NO.
It was case-specific email.

What do you mean "given the dimension of the building" ? 219 and 365 laurier west are the ministry's central buildings (= the minster of the crown works there). Don't think more than a few rooms are allocated to visa processing ;D

Thanks Viva2014

Given the dimension of the building of CPC CTD Ottawa, I think you guys are right, they must receive a huge number of applications per day and also the crew must be enormous!

Hi all, we all know that proof of funds should be submitted together with application. However, on the CIC website there is also information that the proof is not necessary if you are currently working or you are authorized to work in Canada. I have a student work permit and I've been working as a part-timer in security industry for more than a year now. Of course, this is not the job I'm aiming to have after I graduate, I am supporting my studies and paying bills with it.

Do you guys think I shouldn't bother with the proof of funds in my case? Did somebody have a successful application without presenting the proof of funds?

You will still need proof of funds. We all have part time jobs :-)

Hi folks,

I am a sixth year PhD student, FSW-PhD Stream application (for two people, me & my spouse) sent Nov 15, 2014, reached CIC Nov 18, 11am. Wondering if my application is submitted too late for PhD Stream 2014 processing?
If my luck does not betray me again (see below why), when should I expect to have my CC charged and/or receive PER email?

Here is my context that may help you to assess my situation:
- My primary NOC is 4012, worked as a "Teaching Assistant and Tutor Marker" in various courses in the same department.
- I worked since 2009 Sept until Aug 2014, 5 years - 15 semesters, 20 hours a week, without any semester break, totaling 3200+ work hours. My Department head was nice enough to write me a "Letter of Experience" describing my "substantial duties" that I have performed, along with with stating the above mentioned info. I added my all T4A docs and pay slips with this letter. My previous work record is not long as one year.
- I supplied Educational Credential Certificate, IELTS score (8 average), police certificates (obtained on Oct 28, 2013 though, fearing if this will be considered expired??), birth certificates, marriage certificate, six months bank statement ($25000+ combining my and spouse's chequing accounts) and all other required docs with the application.

Now you might be wondering, so what is my problem then? Well, this is my third attempt. First time (reached Aug 27, 2013) they returned the whole pack saying my work description is not substantial enough and my MA degree is not proved equivalent (I foolishly did not obtain EC certificate). So I collected it in early 2014.

Second time (reached May 1) they returned my application saying again that my work experience does not meet requirements of R(10) of IRPA, and my spouse's birth certificate must be provided (another foolishness on my part, alas!).

With a broken heart, I requested my employer to rewrite the letter with specifying the dates, work hours, pay per hour in each semester, and submitted the revised letter with my latest application, also supplied the damn birth certificate. I fear the worst - it will be returned again with work experience issue or some other faults...

Now, my question, why the work experience is coming back to hunt me down when my friends already got PR with similar letter (I actually used their template on my first attempt back in 2013 application)??? I know this is perhaps a difficult/stupid question to answer but will be grateful if you please share your wisdom. I see in previous threads that other people got similar problem with work experience issue.

Wish you success those who are in process, and congrats to those who are already successful! Thanks for your time.

Hello guys!

For those who are worry about crossing the Canada border, going to the US border, getting the refusal letter from the US border and then getting back to Canada:
I got the refusal letter on November 8, 2014, and got back to Canada for landing. Today on November 20, 2014 I had an appointment from the US consulate for Visa. I got my visa at the same day. No question, nothing asked about the refusal letter, nothing at all.

Thank you for your info. Did you voluntarily tell them that you were refused before for landing or not?

Hi all,

My application was received by CIC on 8 September. Do you think it has passed the completeness check already? I haven't find anything in my mailbox, so it must be sitting at CIO. Any ideas? Pepe, you said your friend got his/her application returned recently. When was that?

+- 10 days, based on my experience if your file doesn't go to a verification process. This happened to a friend and he waited for months. Normal processing time is usually not more than 40 days.

How accurate is cic processing time in case of PR Card processing?

It happened to some of us before. Case by case is different. Sometimes, one officer accepts a letter, while another officer does not accept the same letter. It happened for me on 2012 as well.
By the way this is my third application as well. So don't worry. Hopefully this time you will get file number.

I saw a mid. July applicant few days ago that his documents were returned. Don't worry. Hopefully you will get file number.
