I asked a Lawyer regarding my case and this is his response.

Dear Mr. XXX,

You have a strong case. It just makes no sense for the officer to say you haven’t performed the actions in the lead statement. I have gone over it few times and the lead statement on your job is very short and just says these people assist professors, community college teachers and CEGEP teachers and other faculty members in teaching and research activities at universities and colleges. There is the occupational description part too and in that regard as well you have done everything (with the exception of your professor using the explicit word of conducting “laboratory experiments”). That is the only thing which has not been explicitly mentioned but I don’t think the officer can use that as a ground for refusal. In any event, in my experience of doing appeal (and only appeals) for the past 12 years, your case is as good as one could hope.

Appeals to Federal Court take approximately 5-6 months (depending on how busy the Court dockets are). Our standard charge is 3,000.

If you have to spend 3000$ just to appeal with no guarantee that it will work its like finding a pearl in the dark. If I were you I would apply again and save that 3000$ towards settlement funds. Unless it is too important that you have to have the PR you can go with that lawyer. Other suggestion is to try several other lawyers take advice, know their fee and then proceed.
