Since we have been waiting for a long time, waiting for two more months is OK. However, it will be great if we get the passport request before the end of this year :)

Sorry to hear this. Would you mind sharing your timeline with the rest of us?. As Beh said you need to explicitly have the word 'assist' as a part of your duty description as well as opening statement of your letter. In case you did update your letter and had these words, you can send an email to ottawa with evidence of confirmation of receipt of your updated letter. As long as it reached them before the date of final assessment you should be OK. The other way is approach your MP and request the assistant to conact Ottawa directly...

They check for completeness of your application and then cash your cheque or MD. After this , there is a preliminary assessment and in case you pass, you are informed so by an email from CIO Sydney. This is what people call the 'PER email'.

If I want to send an update letter fixing the lead statement, where should I send it? If it is by e-mail, does my supervisor have to send it from his e-mail?

Reached CIO: 8 Aug 2012, CC: 21 Oct. 2013 PER: 22 Oct 2012 Reject: Nov. 18 2013
No of applicants: 2 Work experience: TA/RA only (3+ year) Nationality: Iran

Second, seems I have a new challenge. Now, I need to have my B.Sc and M.Sc assessed. I would like to ask Iranian friends who applied after May 2013 to share their experience about this. The hardest part for us seems to be convincing our university to send the official transcript directly to the assessment agency.

I doubt if it is the only way to send transcripts to them. Don't they accept originals?

I knew mine was received when I got the email with the UCI number.

Don't worry about the assessment. It is not as hard as it seems.

Would you please share your reference letter? this may clarify what was missing in your letter.

P.S. I'm from the U.S.; there are four of us (wife and two kiddos) in the application; and I included TA/RA work experience (for the one year full time equivalent requirement) and the two courses for which I was the sole instructor.

Which NOC did you choose for the instructor job? Is it 4011?
You can apply for your GCMS notes since now, and once you receive your file number they will send you them, ordering those notes is the best way to figure out what experience they accepted or what adaptability points you got.

Just wondering is it a good idea to update our status proactively? Because I just graduated in this Aug and continue with a PDF at the same University, do I need to inform Ottawa this change? If so, what documents should I include in my package besides an explanation letter?
