It says so. But based on the discussions we had previously, I hope it doesn't actually mean that they haven't started security check.

The interesting thing is my Iranian friends who had applied under PNP and CEC got passport requests in less than 9 months. It's strange that security check of Iranians in PhD stream takes longer thank the whole application process of Iranians in CEC and PNP.

Not sure about what's PER, but I got an email from CIC on Feb 25, 2013 to confirm the application fee is received and my application will be forwarded to Beijing Centre for further review.
I never was requested to provide any documents except this time for medical report.
Request email for the Right of Permanent Resident fee and medical report came on Sep 18, 2013.
I am the only applicant.
TA/RA experience only, not sure how long the CIC counted for. Started my Ph.D in fall 2009.

Have you attached a six month bank statement with your original application or only a balance statement ?

When did you submitted your application? It seems that the processing on your application is so fast. I got the PER at the same date with you, but fail to get any update. You lived in Canada but choose BJ as your processing office?

CIO received my application on Jan 24 2013.
I am a Chinese, so I have the option to choose Beijing and believed it would take less time to process comparing with Ottawa.

Cannot remember right now. But for my checking account, I think I provided 6 month statements, for my TFSA, last year's report.

You were lucky, as the processing time for FSW is 19 months in Beijing is 19 while it is 15 in Ottawa! But you got it faster.

Hello Feb2004,

I don't advise you to withdraw your application, as you may get your medical request in March 2014 at most. However, if you are eligible for the PNP then apply for it and keep your old application as you are not going to get a refund.

Yes they were. The CEC ones got their PR before the rules changed at the end of last year.

Some of you may remember that I got rejected on June 2013, because my supervisor letter didn't have the leading statement! I'm in the 5th year of my PhD. I'm wondering if Teaching assistant is still an eligible occupancy for Canadian Experience Class? Can I apply under that category or they have changed it! I appreciate your help .

Unfortunately RA/TA work experiences are not considered as eligible occupation under CEC category anymore.

Great, this is a wise decision. My case is always delayed by Ottawa due to the strike.
