No I don't mind. I sent my application on December 04,2013. It was received on December 07, 2013 by CIC Nova Scotia. I received the positive eligibility review on January 28, 2013 and I received the request for proof of funds and a bank history on February 18, 2013. I got the rejection e-mail on March 21, 2013.

The process happened quite fast and on the positive side I am happy to know the result now than having had to wait for a long time to be rejected. I have other options now.

I see. I was hoping maybe there is a chance the student union can refund the fee, but I am not sure it will.

I was refused because of work experience and I was not refunded. Their reason was that I failed in the selection process, which as I understood is when they check your documents (work experience, proof of funds, etc...)

I just wanted to make sure that if someone can only prove his TA experience will not be rejected under this NOC because he doesn't have any RA experience. What do you think?
You'll not be rejected because you have only TA experience, unless your TA work experience is not continuous and is less than equivalent of one year full time work. My friend has applied with TA only and got PER.

This is so quick. At least you didn't wait so long as last year's applicants. I hope this keeps on. Though it's not good to only keep refusing on.

It was quick and I am glad for that. I don't know what to say about the refusal part, anything is possible at this point, and I can't say that there is a pattern in rejection or acceptance of applications as each case is different. It depends on your luck or the officer who reviews your application. One sure thing is that they are processing some applications very fast which was the case with my application.

I'm sorry you got rejected and like you I think it is a good thing you got to know early and not wait for so long...

Yup they do work fast sometimes, i got the rejection email on the same day that they started processing my application!
I just wish they could be that fast in acceptances too!

Hi All

I got an email from OttPilot saying that they did not receive my POF(proof of funds) documents.
But I sent all by canadapost Xpresspost a month ago. The mail was received and signed by D Thomas.

Anybody have similar experience when sending documents by courier service to Ottawa before? How to deal with this? Should I re-send another copy ASAP?
Thanks,

Thanks. Oh wow in your case it was even faster. I think this PhD stream has so many loopholes that it is totally left to the discretion of the visa officer whether to accept or reject an application and apparently they prefer rejection more than acceptance.

AF___ got similar email regarding his document request, and this morning they clarified that it was a mistake. It's probably similar to what you are experiencing. I wonder though, did you send it to CPP-Ottawa on the 7th Floor Section B? I noticed that when I sent my documents, I sent them only to 7th floor, but I forgot to add 'Section B' in the address. I got an email from Ottawa yesterday night, telling me that it didn't matter whether you add Section B or not, but that could be why some of the documents were misplaced?

wow! They too along time to send you the visa. Can you share with us when did you send your passport? I mean how many days after passport request. Also, did they give you 90 days to send it? Did they gave you specific instructions of how to send the passport? could you send the passport in a prepaid envelop to make it faster?
Your timeline after passport request is very important for me because I need to take some decisions that my be affected once I get passport request (finger crossed), I would appreciate if you can share it.

Thanks for ur reply. My mail was also sent to 7th Floor, not specified to section B.
I haven't got any email from them so far. Probably will wait several days to see what will happen.

I see, that's why it's probably not received properly by them. I sent them an email yesterday, asking them if it would be fine, and around 10 PM yesterday, they replied, and said that it should not matter whether you specified 'Section B', but apparently it did :( Hope this won't affect the processing times too much.

Anyway, this was the reply they gave me last night

Good evening,

It should arrive to our office even If you did not add ‘section B'.

AF___, can you confirm if you also sent your POF to 7th floor only and not specifying Section B? Just curious :)

It looks like this mistake has cost us quite a bit of processing times :( They would only look for it during due date rather than at the date the documents were received. That was probably why some applications got processed faster than some others :( Dang, I'm still banging my head on the wall for this silly mistake...
