Definitely a problem, I was rejected because of that reason.
You need to make sure that the NOC in the application (meaning, the one that you ask them to use to assess your experience) corresponds to the one related to your experience. The letter also has to support that and requires a specific wording.

Where in the application did we ask them to use a certain NOC to assess our work experience?

I just looked over my app:
I find no mention of NOC in any of these forms: IMM 0008(12-2012), IMM 5669(12-2012), IMM 5562(05-2004), IMM 5402(04-2008)

In form IMM 0008 Schedule3(06-2012), I list several NOCs for different time intervals, but do not identify any one of them to assess my experience.

Will they use all of the NOCs identified in IMM 0008 Schedule3(06-2012), or is there some other place where *one* is specified?

They will assess your application against all the NOC's you listed as per the order you listed them

Application under PhD stream on 8 JAN 2014

Hi,

I have another question. I started my master degree on September 2009, and transferred to PhD on January 2012, since my research was going well. So I am studying in Canada since September 2009, but I have not gotten any degree yet, directly receive my PhD. Do you have any idea what will happen to my adaptability point in this case?

Re: Applicant from PhD program on 8 JAN 2014

Hi,

I am applying under PhD stream, sent my documents on 8 JAN 2014. It is almost a month and a week and I have not heard any thing from Sydney! My credit card is not charged, yet! No news yet! :'( Can some body help me what should I do now? Is there any possibility to contact Sydney and ask them? I have not sent them my police certificate though, but I mentioned in my application I will send that as soon as it will get ready!

It takes roughly 2 months to hear back from CIC.

Hi guys,

I've got a question. What if the provided police certificates from our home country are expired during the processing time of our application?
Are we supposed to send update ones proactively? or we should wait to receive notification?

Thanks

Better to wait for their request if money matters, or if it is difficult to get the certificates, as Ottawa does not always ask for the updated ones.

Dear all,

I am planning to apply as in the PhD category, Regarding Educational Credential Assessment, I have M.Sc. from UK, and my B.Sc. from my country. Should both certificates be assessed by an ECS agency, or my M.Sc. certificate is enough to be assessed? I am the principle applicant.

Thanks,

Hello Guys I am filling IMM0008_8E_Schedule8EconomicClasses–FederalSkillWorker and I am confused in the following question

Q.5) Study in Canada

Do we choose "Yes" even if we are in the middle of our PhD degree (not completed)

q.6) Work in Canada

Choose "Yes" as I am RA even if we do not have work permit to work neither I get T4

Q.11 (a) What is assets

Is it the amount we have in our bank, P.S: i don't own any property anywhere in the world.

q.6) Work in Canada

[ No because they require work you have done with a valid work permit

It's always good to be as complete as possible, but I believe you only need to submit an equivalency assessment for the highest foreign credential only, unless if you are in a position to get more points from having more than one educational credentials.

Say your highest degree is a Master's degree from the UK. If one of the ECA agencies evaluates this to be equivalent as a Canadian Master's degree, then you wouldn't need to submit the ECA report of your Bachelor's degree, since you won't improve in the number of points. The educational points now NO LONGER depend on the total number of educational years, but solely on the level of submitted credential(s).

Submitting proofs for your Master's AND Bachelor's credentials would NOT give you any more points than submitting just proof of your Master's credential.

See the following from R78(2)

(2) For the purposes of subsection (1), points

(a) except as set out in paragraph (1)(e), shall not be awarded cumulatively on the basis of more than one educational credential; and

(b) shall be awarded on the basis of the Canadian educational credentials or equivalency assessments submitted in support of an application for a permanent resident visa that result in the highest number of points.

http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/page-33.html#docCont

Paragraph (1)(e) refers to the number of points awarded to an applicant with two or more Bachelor's degrees. Assuming your UK Master's degree is evaluated to be equivalent to a Canadian Master's degree, then that's all you need to claim 23 points, and adding supporting documents for additional credentials won't give you any more educational points.

You should still be awarded the five adaptability points for previous study, since you have been in the PhD program for over two years (not to mention the period from Sept 09 to Jan 12 as a Master's student).

From OP6C

Award five points if the accompanying spouse or common-law partner, other than a permanent resident residing in Canada or a Canadian citizen, completed at least two academic years of full-time study (in a program of at least two years in duration) at a secondary or post-secondary institution in Canada.

There is no longer the requirement to complete the program, only that you have spent at least two years of study in a program, and you must remain in a good academic standing. You stayed in one program from Sept 09 to Jan 12, which was already more than two years, and likewise, from Jan 12 to Jan 14, so I think you're safe here.

Application received on Dec 19, 2013
Credit card money deducted on Feb 06, 2014
PER issued on Feb 10, 2014
TA/RA only.

Thank you. Why do you emphasize "the order you listed them?"

I listed them in the order from most recent to farthest back in time as per the directions. CIO gave me credit for 3 years on my second-to-most-recent entry (4031) which was sufficient to pass the minimum one year requirement. I recently submitted sufficient credentials for a 4th year of HS teaching (4031). There are no more points awarded for 'more than 4 years' than are awarded for '4 years' of work experience. However, I didn't have sufficient documentation to substantiate my most recent (and first) entry: RA/TA.

So, I see no point in running around the math department here to get the appropriately worded letter substantiating RA/TA work since I have already documented 4 years of work experience, ..... unless it is critically important that the first entry also be documented .....

Do you have knowledge (or an opinion) that the first entry needs to be sufficiently documented regardless of the already-accepted-documentation for earlier work experiences?
