I have not received any communication from CIC regarding my application (AOR - July 15, 2015, FSW, inland (I currently live in Canada). Just wanted to understand if this is normal.

Note that we (me and my wife) applied in July with medical done upfront and since September I have the same status (shown below) and there has been no change.

Application/ Profile status: Open
Review of eligibility: Review in progress
Review of medical results: Passed
Scheduling an interview: Not needed at this time
A background check is needed: In progress
Final decision: Not started

Update: It appears that I had received request for passport (PPR?) on 30th

Got my PPR email.

But I have few questions about sending my passport from USA to OTTAWA.

1) What should I use for return envelope? Which carrier? I went to USPS but they said they cannot give the return envelope as its coming from CANADA.
2) Can I use fedex or UPS or anything else?

Please advice.

its not something you can track. my background check went into progress the 3rd day after AOR. after that no updates and its been more than three months. there are people who directly get the PPR without background check in progress. so it cannot determine anything. sorry buddy

Got my Invitation to apply in June 2015

Confirmation of Online Application Transmission & Acknowledgement of receipt in end of July 2015

(I did my medical tests and paid too)

now from several months, I see this as status

Questions:

1) Is it any normal?

2) My actual WP is expiring in April 2016, should I apply for a bridge open work permit? If yes, what should I show to them? I have just the electronic Acknowledgement of receipt (Electronic receipt of APR)
(their commitment to reply within 6 months would end in the end of the month)
