Hello I’m new here!
I’m quite concerned at the moment. My AOR is 13th Dec, I got a notification two days ago stating a change in application status. I checked and only the status bar had appeared showing 20% and the message - we are processing your application, we will let you know if we need more information. No update on medicals. It’s at this time that Medicals are updated right? Does it usually take this long for MEP and BIL?

I already had my biometrics taken last September 2020 for a visitor visa. Will i be requested for another biometrics for FSW? Or this can be reused and biometrics will be bypassed? Thanks in advance!

Biometrics exemption for permanent residence applicants who have given biometrics within the last 10 years
As a temporary measure, you’re exempt from giving biometrics if you
- are now applying or have already applied for permanent residence from in or outside Canada
- have already given your biometrics within the last 10 years

I have a valid biometrics with VFS global, but that was for Schengen. Do I need to give my biometrics again?
Yes, biometrics are not shared across VFS entities for obvious security reasons.
Update: Received BIL today, 21.01.2021. Medicals passed on 20.01.2021.
The progress bar shows 20% complete for me. However, I noticed that the percentage is different for other EE applicants with similar AOR, stage being Medicals cleared or BIL received. 19% for some, 22% for some others. Does this vary with the program under EE too?
Also, any idea at all when the VAC centres in India will start giving Biometric collection appointments for EE Applicants?
%age is useless. It is a simple formula. Its a countdown to 180 days from your R10 Date (usually MEP/BIL date). Don't worry about it being 1% or 99%.
No clue on VACs, did you call VFS folks ?
We have submitted the documents after ITA. We have received a Biometrics Instruction Letter but the biometric collection centers in India are only open for Students' and Family class. There is a deadline of 3 months to submit biometrics. Will the application get cancelled if we are not able to submit the biometrics in time? Also, what is the process to get an extension on biometric deadline in such cases, if any?
