I think support during the filling out/gathering evidence phase would be awesome!
I keep seeing all the "insert month here" 2014 applicants threads and get bummed I don't have a thread to go to!!!

Maybe if you plan on applying in the next 6 months you can join here??? :)

Anyone interested??? ;D

All are welcome of course. I'm sure you can join the March 2014 thread if you want to!
Just sucks people like me who are still in the gathering process don't have a specific thread to go to and have to start a new topic for every songle question we have!

Yessss there should DEFINITELY be a thread for those still in the compiling stage. I know I had 105248562224 questions while putting together my application!

I think it's also helpful to know how other people are going about putting their "evidence" together & organizing their application.

Good luck to you! Have you started working on your app yet?

Lleahdoll! I'll gladly join you!!! ;D

I also hate the fact that we dont have a thread to call our own.. =P I didnt want to be redundant by creating a thread for every question I have so I sometimes join related topics.

I'm also in the process of gathering our requirements. =) we plan to submit our application this May. How about you?

I'm so happy that you thought of creating this thread!

We will be (hopefully) submitting an Outland U.S. application for my husband in April. I have been reading this forum for many months and thought I had a good grip on everything until I started filling out the forms. Seems I've now had a brain freeze

Oh my, I'm in the same boat as you are!! We havent answered yet the relationship questions, though. I wanted to do that while we're together... =))

I started filling out the forms and I thought I could edit it anytime as long as I havent validated it. Then I discovered last night if I "completed" the form, it becomes secured and locked.. *cries* Now I have to start again with that form from the beginning.. :p

Yes, some forms you can change and others you can't.....My husband and I are living in the U.S. We don't have a lot of proof while dating as it was only 6mths between the time we started talking on the phone and getting married, but we are old folk, 62 and 58 and have both been married before. We new what we wanted. Also, most of the pictures we took while dating we do not have copies of. We were using an old disposable camera at the time (I Know) the pics were sent to USCIS when I applied for my Green card and we cannot locate the negatives (remember those) We have been married for 5 yrs though. My biggest concern is proof of intention to return to Canada. My husband will retire and be collecting pension. I currently work part time but neither of us want to work full time anymore. We will look for part time work to supplement our income once we move back. We do not own real estate (bad divorces) so cannot buy a home ahead of time. Any suggestions on what to say to CIC. We will stay with my son when we first move back until we can get settled

Hi, Ive just post this in another threath and i think it might be usefull for the ones preparing for this wild ride.
So, this is an scenario of "what to expect" for Quebec INLAND applicants.

So for Quebec this are the steps.
1. Send your hole package to Mississauga and wait for AOR (Acknowledge of Receipt)
2. Mississauga will send you the AOR together with/or soon after, a letter stating that since you are in Quebec, you will be needing to go to MICC (Ministere de l'Immigration et des Communautes Culturelles) This is the letter that you need to send to Quebec with your package as soon as possible. *If you dont get the csq petition letter, call cic!
3. Send package to Quebec containning all requering documents.
4. Quebec will or will not approuve your CSQ in an average of two months. They will send CSQ by snail mail. They send two copies: One for you (Keep it in a safe place as this will be need to do Quebec gouvernement related stuff ie. health inssurance). The other one says Immigration on the bottom, you can send it back to CIC Mississauga next to a letter containing your UCI and File number. Some people say that Quebec communicates with CIC internally so no need to send this...but i sent it anyway, just to follow the rules.
5. If everything is OK with your file. CIC will send you an AIP letter (approuval in principle) with this letter plus your csq, you can go RAMQ (Quebec health inssurance) and request coverage. After receiving AIP you are also allow to present an application for Open Work Permit. Which will allow you to work while you wait for total PR.
6. In the AIP letter you might be also require to do medicals, fingerprints, background check, in case you havent yet.
*Some people are called for an interview before receiving AIP, in this case your file will move to a local office. This kind of interview normally means that they doubt of your relationship, so be prepare for all kinds of questions and have proofs to fight back.
7. Wait and you might get DM (decision made) process is finish and you just have to wait to "land". For that, your file will be transfer to a local office. Transfer after DM is totally normal.
8. Landing interview is a regular interview that is being held for you to receive your COPR. Is a non-stressful interview that last an average of 15min...and is the last step of PR. (besides waiting for your card on the mail)

There you go, hope this have help you understand the steps for quebec processing. Let me know if you need more help.

Good luck and God bless

My DH and I are in the compiling stage. I am already in Canada living on a proerty I own he is in the USa trying to get our house on the market and we still have a few things to compilebefore we submit the application. We have been marrid 26 years so I dont think there will be an issue with him getting here. We see each otherabout once a month but chat nightly on skype i guess there isnt any way to prove that is there?

Yep you should be able to print a screenshot of the skype chat history, that's what I did. It let me go back about 3 months in time.

Still in the compiling stages as well!
We are slow pokes with the filling out stuff :p

I'm so glad everyone is in need of a thread like this!
I am also interested to hear people in the same boat say how they're gathering up and putting together the relationship evidence.
