Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Hi, meron po bang nagsubmit sa inyo ng appli recently sa VFS Manila?
Can u share your timeline?
I submitted mine last March 9 and all I rcvd was a message via email and sms stating that my aapli will be fwdd to canada visa ofc on the next banking day.
Ano po ba nxt step after this? When do I expect to hear from vfs?
Will the canadian embassy in manila contact me as well?

Hi AAM1218, wait ka lang for your medical request. Check your email constantly kasi doon sila magco-contact sa yo. Na-receive ko medical request the day after I passed my application.

Hi scorpio1641, I check my emails regularly. Pero wala naman update.
Pwede ba mag ffup sa vfs? If so, paano? Walang contact # sa website nila.

You can try contacting them via case specific inquiry: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=manila but it states there that they will reply only if your application has exceeded normal processing times. Since bago ka pa nag-file malamang hindi sila sasagot sa iyo.

Just sit tight, baka may delay lang ng konti sa medical request mo. Good luck!

Hi scorpio1641, thanks! Kinakabahan na kasi ako bkit ung sayo the ff day may med reqst agad.
Pag ba nag request for medical na sure na approved na ba un? How much medical at ano ung mga tests na ginagawa? By the way, family kami nag apply, ako for study permit, my husband for open work permit and yung son namin TRV.

Mas malaki yung chance, pero hindi assurance yung medical request lang. May naka-receive ng MR only to have their passports returned before they can do their medical exams. Pero let's not think about that!
I did my medical with Dr. Albert Santos in Cebu, the cost was 4,800. Yung tests include physical exam (including BP and vision), urinalysis, chest x-ray and blood tests / tests for HIV and syphilis.

nakakainip talaga mag-antay ng visa result everyday is like years waiting. malapit ng mag 1 month...sana lumabas na...hay hay hay buhay.

regarding sa bank draft or cheque. Paano po ba process ng pag gawa nun pag sa BDO kami magpapagawa? kasi plan ko magdala nlang ng bank draft para ipambayad sa tution ko sa school (para hindi makapal yung dala kong pera, nakakatakot kasi).
Naka USD account kami sa BDO and pwede kayang instead na USD ilagay sa cheque eh CAD? and need ko pa ba mag open ng account sa BDO and sa Canada? kasi yung dad ko yung nakapangalan sa USD account namin sa BDO.

Why not pay your tuition via bank wire transfer para di mo na kailangang magdala ng malaking pera aside from 10K CAD?

Yep, mag wire transfer ka na lang. Ginagawa naman yan ng lahat ng banks. I paid my tuition through RCBC wire transfer. Di ka talaga pwede magcarry more than 10k in foreign currency when u travel BTW.

pwede naman magdala as long as ideclare mo yung pera sa POE. I'm planning to bring $15,000 USD
sa wire transfer kasi sobrang mahal 63$ siningil sa akin ng BDO nung nag wire transfer ako dun sa seat ko :/

pwede ka naman na pumunta unless may valid reason ka, wala naman nakalagay sa CIC kung kaylan ba dapat pumunta ng Canada. actually nakalagaysa CIC, as soon as nabigyan ka na ng visa pwede ka na pumunta anytime. pero ang advisable ng mga seniors dito sa forum is 2 to 3 months early before the start of your class and make sure you have enough funds to support your stay in Canada. my mga nadedeny daw sa POE kasi masydo daw maaga pero wala naman ako nahanap na ganun case dito sa forum
