thanks for the update LaLa320!!!
It is comforting knowing that they are trying to get things done in a timely fashion.

Since my husband received that email from Mexico, it has been a bit easier. It is really nice to know where it is and what is going on with the VO's!!

Let's keep our fingers crossed, the next month or two should be lucky!!
I hope so!

WOW thanks for the info. Does anyone know if Mexico is any faster than expected?? My friend wants to know. She applied in November and quite eager and anxious to know. I read her this info and she wanted me to ask. Thoughts anyone ?
from what I've seen they're about the same pace as SDVO was about 6 to 9 months but I'm suspecting with the switch it will be about an extra 1 to 2 months

So more progress today for Dominican Spouses. Someone one the Facebook group received a visa today. It's a nice feeling knowing things are starting to move since it seemed like dead air for FOREVER. It has me thinking though, when the time comes for my husband to send his passport to Mexico, how do we do that? I realize it has to be through a courier of some sort, what which one? How much? Has anyone given any thought to this or had any experience. I'm curious. I like to plan ahead. When I told my husband a few weeks back that when the time came he would have to send his passport to Mexico, he thought I was crazy. We debated it for some time and end the conversation with him STILL thinking that there would be some loop hole to this. However, as folks are hearing more, I see that passports are being asked to be sent to Mexico...so how do we do that? I would like to get an idea so that when times comes I can just be like "babe, go here..." haha.. Thoughts, comments anyone?

I believe they will ask you to send it through Canada Post or Federal Express via express post envelope along with a shipping label to send it back to him. Or they may ask to drop it off at the embassy in Santo Domingo and they forward it to Mexico and then they pick it up in SD when it's ready. Those are some of the theories I have heard! I hope it's the latter because the mailing system in DR is ridiculous

Ya I'm pretty sure they will ask for us to dropped off in
Santo domingo and they'll send it to Mexico. Hopefully we'll heard from then soon

I know someone in DR that got his email from Mexico yesterday for his visa.. and they asked for him to courier his passport to Mexico.
I had my husband call Fedex, when the time comes, he can drop his package to Mexico off at Fedex in SD and they will ship it to Mexico with a return label to the Fedex location he drops it off at, so Mexico can mail it back and call him when its received. Looks like it will cost about $70 total

So much movement in Mexico this week for the Dominican Spouses!!! This gets me all excited. :D

looks like Mexico is picking up the slack! I think Mexico dealing with our applications is going to be a good thing!

I hope my husband hears something within the next month.. I have a lot of weddings and other functions to attend this summer and would love for him to be here for them all!

i have a question.. if at any point i decided to email them to ask if my application is there do i send the email with all my information to MCVO? which i think the email is mexico-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca is that correct?

Got an email from Mexico on Friday asking for a remedical! Because ours is expired! We have 30 days to submit! Sucks that they couldn't extend it, but I'm happy because it means they're actually working on our file! He's going to SD tomorrow to do it!

I noticed this morning on ecas that my husbands address has changed from his Dominican address to my Canadian address.. I wonder does it mean anything? haha

I don't check ecas often, but I noticed the address right away! how weird
