I got refusal letter for my wife. VO believes that marriage was not genuine or was to get privileges. I am going into appeal but can't afford lawyer. Hoping, I will represent myself in IAD. Any advice will be appreciated.
I believe you just have to provide more detail information and see where your weaknesses are and what are the strong points that the VO office is looking for as regards to you case. Also try searching similar case to yours that was successful.Hope that helps.,.,.God bless.

Hi dear
Its so fast give us the idea how its faster :):) please

Thanks
Unfortunately there's no way to make it faster, from what I've seen on this forum, the average wait time is pretty much a year, @gehtrew did get their appeal allowed incredibly fast, but that's not the norm. I waited basically a year from filing for the appeal to having it allowed. But I suppose depending on your location, once they call you to schedule a hearing, you could get one sooner than later.

You don't need a lawyer, I was told the average person actually does it all on their own, not everybody can afford a lawyer and a lawyer is not a guarantee your appeal will get allowed, they just have more experience. Just start collecting everything you can to prove your relationship is genuine, and by everything I mean everything that has to do with you two, having solid proof is very important. Get family and friends to write letters to vouch for you two if they know your wife well. Acknowledge where you failed to provide enough information and proof (if you did) and address every concern they mentioned in their refusal letter, one by one. Overall, if you have a strong case, you will be fine without a lawyer.

Thanks for encouraging me.

Thanks for encouraging me.
I would also suggest reading back about a year in posts. I always kept reading anything relevant. We had a lawyer, but my husband and I made sure we answered to all refusal reasons. Unfortunately they made us wait 2 yrs. But it took us 2 hrs to win. You can do it. With more visits & more proof.

Sorry I had given the wrong month I appealed in September of 2016.It took us roughly four (4) months to get a hearing date in January of 2017.Are you waiting on a full hearing?
No my lawyer said it will be ADR

Good Lord, DM since August 10!! Cic this is the worst wait ever. Today is the day, where is this passport request? It's my right to bring my husband & furbaby to my country.

That is so not fair! But hey, you might get PPR tonight. I got mine at a really odd time, it was a Saturday at 8PM (promise you they don't work those hours) so perhaps it was an automatic e-mail based on bring forward dates?!

Yes this is what I tried explaining to my husband. I know they randomly get sent. Thanks Tamyeh.
