An update from ICAS, but another applicant from another thread with the same date of assessment, already received the electronic copy but I haven't. Is there still a chance of rejection of Masters degree?

Reply from ACICS

I empathize with your situation. Unfortunately, the credentialing process for Canada only uses the one agency. As previously noted, we are trying to work with WES on this but as at now, they do not accept to evaluate credentials earned at nationally accredited institutions.

Guys I've finally received my ICAS assessment but no luck. Masters from NPU was considered as Private Career College Qualification (the credential is not comparable to a Canadian Education Credential) . So the final credential I received was Bachelors 4 years degree equivalent.

Any luck with folks appealing their WES reports for schools that are ACCSC accredited? My husband's bachelor's degree was ACCSC and his WES report says "Bachelors from a non-recognized institution." Wondering if there's any way to appeal or at least get points for his degree as a diploma or two-year degree.

Hello Guys,

I have sent emails to all the 5 agencies regarding ECA report for my University Fairfax University of America(formerly Virginia International University) which is accredited by ACICS. Below are the responses.

CES- Still waiting for their response.

ICAS- They cannot process nationally accredited institutions.

WES- They cannot process nationally accredited institutions. Website itself does not accept VIU or other ACICS accredited institutions. Also awaiting email response from them.

IQAS- Cannot say until they receive complete application.

ICES- Website mentions list of not eligible institutions which has mine. Also awaiting email response from them.

Considering previous and current responses for this issue, I think there is no further development and we are unlucky. Please post if any one has an update.

Thanks,
Mahesh Babu.

NPU-Fremont receives WASC accreditation from June-2020!
https://www.wscuc.org/institutions/northwestern-polytechnic-university

Now this will help all past and future Canada PR applicants having NPU degrees to get required points as now NPU is part of WASC and WASC itself is one of the six US-based regionally accrediting institutes. Anyone from now onward if you see confirmation from Canada based Evaluating agencies then kindly update everyone here.

I have also sent a message to WES and CES agencies to check whether they have started accepting NPU degrees for evaluation or not. I Will keep all posted, and anyone else can also update your response as received.

Thanks.

Hi.does that mean the degrees awarded before WASC accreditation will be evaluated since the university was accredited by ACICS at the time of graduation?

That's how they likely evaluate degrees based on who they are accredited with today. As for some candidates, their universities might have closed or status changed or changed the accreditation bodies but it all depends on Canadian evaluation agencies.
That's why I have sent enquiry emails to two of five Canadian evaluators where I had applied in past to check what is their criteria as of today with this changed status. Will keep all posted and if any of you have information then let us know here as well.
