Your wife needs to provide a police certificate. It is required. She is NOT a protected person, you’re the convention refugee.

If you have traveled since you got your RTD you should include the dates and location you went through. I’ve also traveled and included the dates in my form. No issues. Currently waiting for my Ecopr. Good luck!
Thanks for your input! I appreciate you sharing your experience.

Just to clarify… my spouse and children are still residing abroad and are included as dependents, but they do not have Protected Person status themselves. The current document request I received specifically says it applies only to family members who have Convention Refugee or Protected Person status in Canada.

Because of that, I’m interpreting it as not applying to my spouse at this stage. I understand she will eventually need a police certificate, but I’m planning to wait until IRCC sends a separate request that explicitly asks for documents from dependents abroad.

I’ll definitely update my travel history as you suggested. that part is clear. Thanks again and good luck with your eCOPR!

Then you’re right. They want you to get a police certificate. I don’t know what your claim is based on because normally you’re not meant to provide report from a country you are facing persecution. What I’ve seen people do is provide a letter stating why they can’t get the police certificate. You might want to ask your lawyer if you have one. I wasn’t asked for one because of risk of persecution from my country. But my dependents outside have been asked to provide theirs.
