2017 PGP Applicants

Hello Sr Members, need you guidance... i am in process of filling the forms for my parents. Under additional information, there is section for places they stayed in last 10 years... they being travelling mostly between INdia and USA. do we need to write all entries or only ones which are more than six months out of India.

Hi folks,

I appreciate the seniors and those who have been answering our questions here.
I am in the process of filling the PGP application to sponsor my dad and I have a question.

My dad is presently not in the country and I am filling out this application on his behalf, I.e the sponsor and primary applicant page.

His passport photo is required for this application, how do I go about this when he is not physically present in Canada.I tried printing out a digital photo of him here that was taken back home but CIC requires the stamp of the photo company with date and name at the back of the photo.

Anybody has experience with this? Seniors please help

This is something new in 2017. Applicants from previous years didn't have to submit photos with initial application.

However, there is ample time for your father to take photos from wherever he is and send them to you. Same way principal applicant's signature needs to be on some forms.

There is some confusion here. the checklist says that all family members greater thank 18 yrs should fill these with the primary applicant but instructions say primary and `dependents . Can someone guide?

Hi there, I don't know the correct answer but my best understanding would say 'Child' . Question itself asks you (sponsor): Relationship TO applicant, so should be child. I am still not able to find satisfactory answer to this, and is helping/completing forms for my wife's parents.
Please let us know if you find any better reasoning/answers.

I agree - the relationship should be "child". That's what I used.

I have a question for the "Financial Evaluation for parents and grandparents sponsorship" document. Questions 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are related to family composition. How would I fill out these questions with my wife being a co-signer, I have 2 children and I'm applying for my mom and dad, and I (nor my wife) have no previous undertakings. What numbers would you use in this case?

I think I'm following you here - this is great. So, because I answer my kids in Point 6, I will have to provide details on the back of the page. I guess the "details" requested would be their names, their relationship to me (child) and their age. That should be sufficient I guess.

Follow-up question later in the same document. Question 14, employment history. For each line, I am to provide "family size". Do I fill in 4 (myself, my wife and my 2 kids) or 6 (myself, my wife, my 2 kids and my 2 parents that I'm hoping to sponsor)? I think the family size in my case is 4. Do you think that is correct?

Hello Sugarcane

IRCC will expect all of us whose parents are presently living in their home country, to have the forms sent to them and signed. In return they can send the documents and signed forms with photos back to you. And you complete the submission to mail it to IRCC.

That's how you will have your photos stamped and signed.

This is what I understand. Correct me if needed.

Ans : while you type every tax years income each line , type your current family size for that year. You don't need to add your parents. ie, in 2014 if you had only one kid, your family size was 3. Next year in 2015 you had a baby. Means your family size for that tax year would be 4.

Any one submitted the application yet? Dis you received Canada post confirmation? i am of the idea that since its a PO Box so no one will be there to sign for receiving......

Hi, I've a question regarding validating form IMM5669. What to do if you don't have DOB available for Question 3? In the guide it mentioned put * but that doesn't work with the validation.
