HI Everyone,

I have a question re: background declaration form. if parents are retired and they've been traveling here and there in the past 7 yrs or so, nothing long term - do i need to break it down and supply the information on top of their employment history?
Nevermind folks. I found the answer I'm looking for. It's a bad habit of mine - selective reading and over analyzing. Hahaha. Thanks!

It is "child" unfortunately. The form is for applying for their immigrantion, so your parents will fill this form, the relationship for you to them is "child".
I agree. It's the sponsor's relationship to the principle applicant (person being sponsored), so child or grandchild ("other relative").

Question for whoever has an answer

My parents are in canada on a visitors visa right now. Sponsorship has been approved and file sent to LVO Ottawa based on their current address which is here in canada with me. Does this mean Medical and pp request will be done here in canada and they have to be here when that happens ? Second question : Their visas expire end of august. I know I can apply for an extension on the Temporary resident permit but is there any way I can also apply for a new Temporary resident visa (not permit) from within canada ?

Thanks !

Hi Sandysandhu, Pls type your details so I can update the spread sheet.

Parents country of Origin : ?
Date of receipt of application at Mississauga: ?
Sent by : Courier or Canada post @ PO Box ?
Date of Acknowledgement of Receipt by IRCC by e-mail or ECAS status changed : ?
Date of Sponsor status approval ?
Local Visa office : Ottawa

Replying to your question above.

Two possibilities here.

1 > Their application will be processed entirely here and they have to perform Medical and PCC here. BTW, PCC is only required if they have stayed more than 6 months in Canada or any other country. But for country of origin they would surely need PCC. So that increase the possibility of second option.

2> IRCC would realize that they are just visiting here but country of origin is different. In that case,
I believe their file would be transferred further to local visa office in their country of origin after review at Ottawa.
It is interesting that they proceed ahead with application.

yes, I see that. My mistake. Sorry the incorrect reply.
I agree with the answer "Child".

Hello. I just realized that I made a mistake in the "Financial Evaluation" form. For the employment history part, in the first row, I put the date as "01/01/2016-present" and put my annual income for 2016. I guess the correct way would be to do "01/01/2017-present" and write my income YTD and second line should have been "01/01/2016-31/12/2016" with 2016 income and so forth.
I provided my Option C for 2014,2015,2016 with my application.
Will there be a problem for this mistake?
What should I do?
My application was delivered on June 14th and did not get any correspondence yet.

I'd say option c beats your form and should be fine
