Hello! everyone on this thread is in the same boat. Unfortunately, we still have a while longer to wait. According to CIC site it's about 84 days wait, so if you add that to JAN 20 you would have an approximate time of when you should be hearing something from CIC.

Ok...thank you for the information.....at least our worries will be lessened .......thats all we can do is to wait for now.....keep our fingers crossed that everything will be ok...anyways good luck again to all of us..

You will only get a file number and email when they open it and start processing it, they are currently processing December 8 ish applicants and are moving more quickly. My best guess is that April and maybe late March for early Jan applicants will be the time when we start to get file numbers. Really it is just a case of forgetting about it for a while, forums are great but they can also give innacurate information and promote worrying for no reason. As long as the application was filled out correctly everything will be fine. I strongly suggest having a look at the december 2014 outland spreadsheet, you can follow how quickly they are moving, I dont think the CIC website gives the most accurate information but rather an average based on whatever system they use.

Sometimes we tend to think a while of what was happening with our application......anyway Thank You for the inputs/information....its gonna be a great help to relieve our worries if our application has reached it's destination...keep on updating guys...Thank you ...Good luck to all of us

Update: December 11 receiving AOR, whilst some December 15 have AOR also. December 5 have SA.

At this rate Jan applicants will be receiving AOR in March sometimes. The CIC have woken up

Just to add Dec 15-16 applicants receiving AOR last week whilst as high as Dec 22 applicants receiving AOR during the last week. They are really speeding through it now. December 11 applicants receiving SA and one Dec 16 receiving SA.

At this rate Jan applicants will start to be processed over the next few weeks. Very surprised.

Great news, where are you pulling these statistics?

The December 2014 outland spreadsheet, much more accurate than the CIC website, not an exact science however most people are updating their info so you can get a good idea of how far we are. Mid December being processed now.

The reason why some jan and feb apps got a quick SA is because lebanon and syria is a hot zone so the candian government is fast tracking the apps. I think there fast tracking the apps from the canadian side so that they are "safe" so if anything happens they can blame lebanon or syria. I hope someone could share how long it took lebanon to accept there spouse and give them a visa within the last 6 months

Dec 22 applicant just got SA, 70 days processing, in 2 weeks Jan applicants will certainly be getting AOR.

I just kinda figured how they are sorting applications. From what I have seen it seems they sort files according to VOs and then send it to the officer in charge for that respective VO.

Now there is a possibility that for NDVO, there are more applications, hence, there would be more visa officers handing files to be sent to NDVO for processing.

This explains while some are getting AOR and SA out of turn.

This is just my theory!!!

They dont know what VO until they open the package, as soon as they open the package they will give it a file number and send AOR. I can't imagine they open packages to check what office and then put them in a pile, it would take a long time and also loose documents would get lost and mixed up. 95% of people are being processed according to the date it was sent, it is only a handful who are out of turn, it will simply be that it was put on a pile by mistake or that the officer picked it up by mistake or out of order, human error.

If you look at the spreadsheets they mostly follow the order that it was sent.
