Does anyone know if there is an April 2015 outland thread??? We're still putting together our supporting documents (thank you to all the helpful posts on this forum)...and should be able to submit our application by the end of April.

I'm Canadian and my husband is Syrian who lives in Dubai (I'm here with him on tourist visa while our application is being processed although I'll have to find a job soon!!)

It would sure be nice if we could get his visa application sent to Abu Dhabi instead of Amman (quite a difference in processing times)

If there's any other sponsors out there with Syrian spouses....please let me know!!

C.

There likely won't be an April 2015 outland thread until April when someone sends there application in...

I am a Canadian Citizen, currently having a vacation here in the Phils since November 2014. I've sent our application papers since January. It wont get affected naman diba?
- If you are a Canadian citizen, with a Canadian passport, you can stay out of the country as long as you like. You don't lose your citizenship, So i don't think there will be any problem regarding that.

Anyone whom submitted their papers thisJanuary receive their SA yet?
- there are 2 lucky ones as of to date who got approved for sponsorship already. If you are following the December thread, some of the mid Dec applicants started receiving acknowledgement of receipt of their application. So, January applicants can expect AORs by mid March or early April (hopefully).

Im trying to state 10 random ques inorder to update my profile status summary. Anyways, did anyone else send a letter instead of their Option C print out?
- In case you didn't sent out an Option C there is a big chance that CIC will still request that once they start processing your papers. But it will still depend on the officer who'll be handling your file.

What are the spreadsheets for?
- The spreadsheet is for us to track down the processing of all the people in these thread. It is a summary of everyone's timeline.

Any particular reasons to get refused?
- most of the refusal can be lack of evidence to prove the relationship.

Is there really no income requirement for spousal sponsorship?
- There is no income requirement for spousal relationship, as long as you don't received any social assistance or have previously filled for bankruptcy.
In case you are unemployed, just make it clear that once you land on Canada you will both actively look for a descent job to be able to support yourselves.

I received AOR yesterday. Good to know my file has been opened.

Hi Lamour!

Congrats on getting your AOR!

Would you like me to add you on the January Spreadsheet? You can add your timeline as well.. whichever is more convenient for you.

Thanks!

Maybe you could just post more naturally because it makes it hard for January applicants to read this thread with all these one line posts. If you put all your questions in one post I will be happy to try and answer anything that I have knowledge of

Yes there is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship! As long as the sponsor is not on government assistance and can prove they are financially stable, i.e. job offer, assets etc. then obtaining SA is fairly easy.

Misrepresentation/lying on a application is one of the major reasons to be refused.

Im so confused. Whats AOR?

AOR = acknowledgement of receipt. Means CIC has acknowledged receiving your application

How many months does police clearance expire? I heard 3 mos. My husband's police clearances have been expired for days. I wonder how this will affect. Im hoping it wont. God is good!
It's 3 months. If CIC received the PCC before the expiry date then you are good. If you sent your application in after the expiry date, then they may ask you to submit a new one

Oh, I'm sorry. I was trying to update my summary status in my profile. I just followed whatever I have read.

This may be a very dumb question sorry, but what does it mean in the majority of people's profile where is says "upfront" for med's done??? Does that just mean the medical exams will be done when they are requested??

Upfront means they submitted the e-medical results with the application. This is the recommended method as it will avoid further processing delays.
