Hi guys

CIC will begin accepting applications under the new caps of FSWP, FSTP and CEC starting May 1, 2014.

FSWP
*25,000 applications (overall cap) to support expected admissions in 2015
*eligible occupations from 24 to 50
*sub-caps of 1,000 applications for each of the 50 eligible occupations
(quite confuse on this one if the sub-cap for each occupation is 1,000 x 50= 50,000 applications, so what's 25,000 overall cap???)

FSTP
*increased to 5,000 applications
*all 90 skilled trades designated under the program will now be eligible for consideration subject to caps to each occupation

CEC
*re-set at 8,000 applications

full set of Ministerial Instructions will be available in the Canada Gazette on April 26, 2014...

These are the last FSWP, FSTP and CEC applications under the current system before Express Entry launches in January 2015......

I love to see this in the morning! Im so excited. Time to prepare!

Any updates on what documents are required. CIC will accept applications from 1st May. I think we need to open a new thread for FSWP.

Hi guys,

My friend wants to apply Under Nova Scotia Nominee Programme. He has bachelor & masters civil engineering degree also have over 5 years experience.

He has all the documents ready to apply other than IELTS. The IELTS test he gave is 2.5 years old. And the next available date is May 10, 2014. As CIC NSNP mentioned in their website that they will accept other proof of language proficiency. Can he provide educational transcripts from both universities and his employer to prove his English skills? He is currently working in Saudi Arabia. Can someone answer my question please?

Secondly I have another question about the CAP they put on. Is 150 for all 42 NOCs or its for one NOC? 150 for all 42 sounds stupid. But can you guys please confirm.

All replies would highly appreciated!

Thanks,

150 is for all NOC. Means they will only accept total 150 application only.

what do you think are we out of Nova Scotia ?

No e-mail confirmations this day.....

I would suggest go with International Credential Assessment Service of Canada.
As i have a bad experience with WES they r so unprofessional due to which last year my file got rejected.
this time i have applied my eca through International Credential Assessment Service of Canada waiting for my ECA to get complete

Good morning guys,
I did not complete the supporting documents to send my application to Nova Scotia, do you think that it will be better to send my application to the new FSW ? which will be faster FSW or Province program ?

Thanks and good luck for all.

What about new criteria for points?
I mean how many points 67?

Applicants under the FSW program will be assessed according to the same criteria as 2013. Applicants are assessed on a points grid that takes into account important factors such as education, language skills, work experience, age, and adaptability to Canada. All applicants must meet minimum language requirements in either English or French.
