Hello everyone,

I’m seeking advice regarding the most suitable Canadian immigration pathway based on my current profile. Here are my details:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electronics
  • Work Experience: 5 years as a Software Engineer
  • Age: 26
  • Marital Status: Married
  • IELTS: Not yet taken, but expecting a band score between 5.5 and 6.0
I’m currently evaluating two possible options:

  1. Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) – Occupation In-Demand stream
  2. Express Entry – Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
I would appreciate guidance on the following points:

  • Based on my profile, which pathway would offer a higher chance of success?
  • Considering my experience in software engineering but a degree in electronics, which NOC code should I select to best represent my occupation?
  • Are there specific provinces where my profile is more likely to receive a nomination?
  • Could the mismatch between my degree and current job role lead to rejection or complications in the application process?
I’m committed to preparing thoroughly and want to avoid any missteps that could affect my eligibility. Any insights, experiences, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Neither program or an PNP unless fluent in French with CLB 7 English scores. SINP not an option as only outside applicants are being selected in specific NOCs like healthcare or job offer with JAL

Thanks for response. If I have achieved CLB 7 in English, would that be sufficient to qualify for any current immigration programs or PNP streams, particularly those that do not require job offer

Do you live in SK? Canadian work experience? If not given your profile there is no pathway to immigrate. Even with Canadian experience living in SK could be difficult to get PR with IT.

okay so which province i should apply with my experience in IT
You need to be working in Canada or have a job offer in Canada to have a chance of being selected through PNP. Or at least have completed education in Canada. If none of those apply to you then PNP is not an option. Your score will also be too low for EE.

Get a job offer and then apply through that province. No chance for you right now without a job offer.

Learn French, boost your IELTS scores, do another degree that gives you a specialization that may still be in demand in IT now and in the future, etc. No shortage of unemployed tech workers these days. Also consider why you want to move to Canada if you have a decent job and life in your home country. What is your wife’s education, NOC, language score, approx IELTS score, work history, etc. She may have a better pathway to Canada.
