titanium, i'll suggest you still get your application together and apply. I highly doubt that the 150 is one a first come first served basis.: it is likely that they'll take - in many more initially and then pick 150 based on a combination o factors. Until you see on the official site that application is closed, I will work towards getting my stuff shipped. Afterall, it cost nothing to apply

@ sjulien I think is high time u stop bugging people with 150cap stories you are sending discouraging signals. As long as NSNP has not declared publicly that they have 150 slots apart from your so called enquiry.
SINP States outrightly that they have a cap for no job offer category and those who applied knew ahead but in this case no such update officially and since we have nothing to loose except for courier let's do it in peace cap or not.
thanks

hiii ,
i just called up nspn office they confirmed couple of things which will be quite useful for us .
1- regarding cap - they will nominate 150 people but not only accept 150 applications .
2 - nominations will be on 1st come 1st serve basis and they will accept applications till they nominate 150 ppl and we can expect a reply from them in next 3 to 4 weeks .
thanks

Nice info my friend. Best of luck to all of us!

Hi Guys,

Do we need to send sealed transcripts as well or just certified copies of the Mark sheets and degree certificates should be sufficient?
It would be great if someone who has applied can help me with this.

Cheers.

Question regarding proof of fund :

Please tell me:
  • What should be the duration for POF (Proof of fund)? The 'NSNP RLMD Application Guide' has no indication regarding duration. Should I make a fixed deposit now & keep the money there, till I apply to CIC & receive PR ?
[BR]

  • A friend who received PR recently, told me that, she deposited the required money for only 03 (three) days & provided statement of that. Later she carried $11,000 cash alongwith her, when she landed in canada. As one has to carry that amount of money canada (cash/draft etc), duration of deposit doesnt matter. Is it logical ?
[BR]
  • Is it better to put the money in a multi-national bank such as HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank etc., instead of a local bank ?

Hi,

Yes, its true for 150 caps for this stream, it used to be Community Based Stream but they changed it last month. And it's a fact that the federal regulated of how many people can be nominated in the Province per year.
So far 700 nominated last year and it supposed to be 500 but they added 200 more.
I live in Nova Scotia and yes I called the office. They're still accepting applications as of now but last March 10,2014 they received more than 100 applications.

So, if you want to apply you have to demonstrate that you are planning to settle down in Nova Scotia, qualifications, credentials and your employment, strong ties to the Province(friends, relatives who can support your application and settlement). You have to demonstrate to the Officer, that you are the right person to be nominated.

They want more immigrants here but they have to regulate it( Federal rule) ...

Hi All,
I am vijay From Bangalore. Planning to apply for Nova Scotia NP . I understand the process to apply for NSNP but for PR do we need to send the documents after having them assessed by any Canadian assessing body?

Is there any other fees than 550$ for single applicant?
I contacted some agencies and they informed me that the overall cost of application would be 2.8 Lakhs whereas I see the CAN CIC states the fees of 550$ only which is hardly 30K.

I havent taken my IELTS yet, will be taking it next month, worried if the applications cap will be closed.

Please suggest is it advisible to apply on own or go for a representative like y-axis,visa masters, CANAM etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I went through the nsnp application guide and didn't find any records of that.

Hi,
it's not mandatory but it shows you have a higher chance to get nominated! it's under employment and settlement issues..

Welcome to the forum vijay. 550 cad is the application fee plus 490 for PR . so total is around 1050 CAD approx 60k per adult applicant. About 2.8 lacs.. Well those consultants are charging as fees plus they don't gurantee anything.. If you want to save money... Go through entire guide for nsnp and document checklist for cic forms. You will be prepared to apply by yourself. Spend some time y to read this thread. Most of your queries would be answered allready. If still in confusion we are here to help. All the best
