No need to worry. So far no one who has sent document has said they have received a confirmation. I am also waiting like you and sent my documents in early Sept as well.
Hopefully we will hear something in the next few weeks.

That sounds about right. I got AOR about two months after submitting documents.

did u had any deoendant in ur application..I have come across so many people whose dependants visas were refused by Cic even though they were full time students.

My sister who is presently living in Canada had applied in a family sponsorship program in 2010, Recently in October 2014 we had got our AOR and luckily today we have got our approval letter, now we are anxiously waiting for the medical request.

In our case, there are 2 parents and 3 dependent siblings.

File transfer: Nov 2014
Med request: waiting

Can any one tell me how long does it take to get the whole process done after the file is transferred?

In our case it was only my mother in law and the file was processed in Ottawa:

Passport request: Sept 25, 2014
Visa Issued: Oct 3, 2014
