    PR card renewal obligations

IIRC it was just shy of a month, but I think I got lucky here as I've seen others waiting longer to receive AOR.

    PR card renewal obligations

Moving slowly. Took a while to show up on tracker even after getting AOR, and no updates since July. Seems to be stuck on LPP.

    PR card renewal obligations

I guess I'd say that I'm open to the theoretical possibility that there might be some application out there that one day needs 250 pages. (I'd guess it'd be something super complex like a refugee who was accused of and put into cessation proceedings, and then eventually won on appeal, then was...

    Renew refugee travel document

It sounds to me like you've exceeded the standard processing times significantly and can now take the usual steps to ask why, like contacting MP etc. Might be worth checking in with...

Urgent Assistance Needed: Denied Entry to Canada at USA CLT airport with Refugee Travel document and eCoPR

Sounds like an employee of the airline didn't understand the rules and that RTDs can be given to refugees and protected persons who don't yet have PR. Sounds like you're making the same mistake as the airline employee (or perhaps confusing the two different OPs - the more recent one isn't a PR...

    Renew refugee travel document

That's odd. If one checks https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/processing-times.html?year=2025 for Passport -> Refugee travel document or certificate of identity, it says 20 business days.

    Tracker - Minor (<18) applications

I think that's just a case of IRCC being slow. Access to the tracker (for my own adult app) took close to a month for me, even though I got AOR first iirc. As per https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=299&top=3 and...

What it means "Your citizenship application status, Updated:" in the tracker

I believe these are called ghost updates. You can find more about these on searching this forum for that term but in short it's a good sign, it shows that the application is being worked on and moving, even if there are no visible details for you to see elsewhere on the tracker itself.

    Citizenship online status tracker query

Back in 2019 my personal experience was this wasn't possible - the system couldn't find my application to link when I was using a representative. But now it seems like this has changed. From the official source...

Refugee status cessation and PRs applying for citizenship

If we have to have this cessation of PR at all, I feel like this is the way to handle it. Onay was given a warning to not do it again (travel to Turkey) and no further action was taken at the time. Only after CBSA gave him this warning, he flew back to Turkey (as a stop on the way to Iran, but...

    PR card renewal obligations

Thanks! Very helpful and a really interesting read. Seems like this is actually the former case ("didn't need to send 250 pages") rather than the latter one ("applicant really did need 250 pages and has a credibility problem") which remains speculative I guess. At this junction I think we'd...

    Ontario OINP / Quebec PR

Hmm, yes, isn't there a pause for the time being? https://www.cicnews.com/2025/07/what-are-my-immigration-options-now-that-the-peq-is-closed-0757279.html Not understanding how you did this "last month" (August) considering the pause happened a couple of months prior. Congratulations! Yes, I...

PR Card Renewal – Urgent Processing Submitted Sept 23, Travel Oct 20 — Advice & Reassurance Needed

The only thing I have to add to this helpful reply is that, in the highly unlikely event that you're unlucky enough to lose your passport after successfully entering the USA but prior to getting to the land border with Canada, you'd still be fine. I know from personal experience that at the POE...

Citizenship application REFUSAL for residents in Quebec with PR obtained through EE

So you clearly did follow the rules for EE and stay in a non-Quebec place for a good bit. I think this is a very good reason to want to move back as well. Other more experiences members might have better guidance here. My guess is that if you have good evidences if asked then it won't be an...

    April 2025 - Citizenship Applications

In a way, I'm kind of envious. This is a category of expediting that (almost) could never apply to me - I'd love to have the ability to ask for my Canadian citizenship app to be expedited so I can legally work in the US (I in fact have one such offer in hand). A shame because I'd love to be the...

    PR card renewal obligations

100% agreed. (The real issue of course isn't so much that "I read the instructions but didn't want to do it this way" but rather a "I got confused by the instructions" and so either examples of successful applications or tailored advice is needed.) Dang, I looked for but couldn't find that...

    PR card renewal obligations

You mean like this? I only suggested the OP submit five total pieces of evidence, which, we both now agree is more than necessary, but this number is also what the OP actually did submit and what you suggested as being within a reasonable amount of info (here...

    PR card renewal obligations

Interesting. Basically it sounds like most of the time the two pieces of evidence is a formality and they'd generally know from internal government sources. (I wonder why require evidence at all then with the application? Perhaps they just want the applicant to honestly say "Yes, I was in...

Refugee status cessation and PRs applying for citizenship

Excellent! Glad to hear the completion of a success story. This makes sense. My guess would be that it probably did speed up your process, but I also suspect that if the decision for cessation was made then it probably wouldn't have mattered much. In other words, I'm speculating that it helped...

    PR card renewal obligations

That sounds like it'd cover enough of the time period. Should be good. Doh! Of course it's not required to account for every single day in the five year period - even if you were in Canada the entire time of those five years, it's only 730 days required, so proof that supports that is enough...
