Hi everyone,

I’ve been following this thread for quite a while from the outside. I didn’t create an account before because I was using it to get an idea of how IRCC is moving forward with cases, as I am a protected person myself and applied for PR in June 2024.

I also work at a non-profit organization providing settlement services, supporting refugees with their PR, travel documents, work permits, and other applications. It’s helpful for me to see different cases and get a sense of how things are progressing.

I’ve been reading that people who applied in 2024 have started receiving ECO PR 1, but honestly, I was a bit skeptical. However, based on my experience, I can now confirm this is happening. I know someone who applied for PR under the protected person category back in October 2024, and they received Portal 1 on April 27. They just responded to IRCC today, and I’ll keep you posted on how long the next steps take.

One important detail is that this person has three children overseas, who are currently going through the biometrics process in their home country. I’m not sure whether having dependents has influenced the application.

I wanted to share this to give a bit of hope, in a somewhat unpredictable way, things are moving :)

I don’t know if it was a scam, but my friend that applied in September 2024 got her ecopr last week, and I’m May 2025 applicant and my criminality and security has started while 90% of 2025 applicants haven’t even gotten AOR, with IRCC its not first come first serve and based on my understanding of the process its all based on the complexity of your file and how easy it is to verify information and identity.
Share the screenshot of your account showing your claims, if you are not a scam

Thanks! Also, a question for you: How do you submit your photo in P2? I took my pictures today, so I have everything ready.
its easy to upload photo. If you have digital photo that's better if not you have to scan the photo (professionally). upload your photo on the next page you have to manually crop the photo. your face should be in inside the both circle, your chin should be touching or slightly inside the circle. you will see the instruction there anyway. once you are done with photo you can submit.

Hi everyone,

I have an issue with the IRCC about my PR application as a protected person.

My criminality check has been in progress for 25 months, and I think that because of the poor fingerprint quality, there are 7 of my fingers considered an exception as appeared in the GCMS note.

I have tried to send the web form before almost 6 months, but I got a template response.

I have called the MP office and explained everything about my issue, and the MP office told me

I have requested that a message be sent to the Mississauga office to inform them of my issue.

If you have not received a response within 12 business days, please contact our office again for a further update.

My question is, do you think that the MP office has a real effect on the IRCC process office?

I contacted 3 different MPs during my WP application (I moved from the city). None of them helped more than normal updates. Only one left a note for the officer to request more information

In my case, MP didn't work
