It has been almost 38 months since my progress started. My wife is dependent on my application, and her progress was completed 13 months ago; she is now waiting for my process to be completed to get her PR. I'm just waiting for the comprehensive security screening for 13 months. When I tried to contact our MP, they said that they couldn't help because the processing time was still not complete. If MP can't help us, who can help then?
is your dependent inside or outside?

Anyons here got married to US citizen? Will it impact my pr application in canada if my spouse is usa citizen and i apply for usa green card (takes 11-18 months)? Appreciate your help

Once a file is referred to comprehensive screening, it often feels like the application is forgotten. I have not heard of anyone receiving PR after being referred to A34 screening. Please see this group:

where are you from? do you have a military background?

I don't have a military background. This isn't about my background. IRCC has a quota for comprehensive security screening, and they can request it for anyone.
It depends on the country of origin. They request comprehensive screening for applicants from certain countries. Where are you from?

I'm pretty sure it is not about the country. I have a lot of friends with a similar timeline to me, and they got it in normal processing time. Anyway, I don't care about security screening or anything else. The problem is more than that. It has been 38 months since I applied. It is not a reasonable timeline. I couldn't get a few job offers just because of my status. I'll try to talk with my MP again. finger crossed..

I recently got my decision. After 32 months.
Probably with the one time initiative your process will move soon.
Dont rely much on MP, honestly they dont do much.

your country of origin can also affect Comprehensive Security (A34) security screening, but not in a simple or automatic way. It’s not about nationality alone, but about risk factors linked to countries. comprehensive Security takes a long time because it is a deep background and security check handled by multiple agencies like IRCC, CBSA, CSIS. It involves multiple agencies, not just IRCC. they do detailed checks on travel, history, and associations. Some checks rely on foreign countries, which slows things down.
Do you the country name list ?
