I had my hearing and the member said take 15 minutes I will announce the decision after 15 mins. But my lawyer said he wants to submit some written submission. After that the member said I will announce the decision in a week even if you put that submission. What that means?

Doesn’t mean anything unless your lawyer indicated otherwise.

But on table decision are most of the time positive right?

Yes typically. Not getting a decision on the day of the hearing means very little. Some members never give results at the hearing. Your lawyer, who attended the hearing, would be the best person to ask about how the hearing went and why they want to make another submission.

My friend had same things. 2 days ago. He passed.

Ok thanks. I don’t know what my lawyer did. The member wanted to announce the decision.

If a lawyer wants to submit extra material that is typically because of a concern based on the member’s questioning. Do you know what material they are going to submit? Context matters in this situation so your lawyer would be the only one who could really give you a realistic interpretation of how the hearing went, why they wanted to submit more material, etc. Assume they may have at least given you some feedback on your claim in general and how they felt the hearing went. They are the best person to answer any questions you have. I do understand that if a legal aid lawyer you may not be able to reach them. With the limited information we have nobody can predict the outcome. As I previously said some members never give out results at hearings but that doesn’t mean they don’t approve cases. Your lawyer may have wanted to be very cautious and submit more material versus get a decision at the hearing. We just don’t know.
