Yes, I did call the BLS helpdesk and they did not have any additional information (other than what is already published on the BLS Canada & https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/ websites). Their asked me to enquire with the Consulate directly. I tried calling them 3 times but no one picks up the phone. So still waiting.
Use CGI website to raise query. https://www.cgitoronto.gov.in/sampark/ , Raise query. You generally get response in 24 hours

I am in a similar situation. Have applied for passport renewal for my daughter and my status is still "Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate."
Here is my timeline
29/12/2021 - Passport application submitted
21/01/2022 - Application Date in CGI website
From then on the status has not changed and I didn't receive any police verification email. Any suggestions?
Use CGI website to raise query. https://www.cgitoronto.gov.in/sampark/ , Raise query. You generally get response in 24 hours. I am more or less in very similar situation. Please update if you get any response from CGI
I am also in a similar situation. I have applied for my passport and my daughter's passport renewal. Both the applications reached CGI on 7th Feb and then moved to status Passport application is under review on 22nd Feb and since then no change. Did you apply for normal / jumbo passport ?
I applied for a normal passport for my 2 daughters. One daughter, there was a police verification and my family in India has provided the details and now the current status is "Passport has been printed" for the past 2 days. So I am hoping that I will get her passport soon. My other daughter's status is still under review. police verification has not been initiated yet. no update so far. Here is their timeline
First application
29/12/2021 - Mailed to BLS
21/01/2022 - Application Date in CGI
19/02/2022 - Police verification Initiated
02/03/2022 - Print has been initiated
08/03/2022 - Passport has been printed

I heard there wont be any police verification in India if you are in Canada. Did you put indian address as primary
I submitted my normal passport renewal application (normal booklet not jumbo) and below are the timelines . I will update if anything changes
My situation : Marital status changed from single to married so had to add spouse name and address change to Canadian address .
1) Feb 8- Application and other documents picked up by Purolator
2) Feb 9- Application received by BLS
3) Feb 14- Reached CGI
4) Feb 15- Status changed in blscanada website -application in process by Consulate
5)Feb 18- Status update in passportindia website- Application received with fee and its in progress
6) March 4- Passport india portal-Application submitted and under review by consulate/Embassy and CAT number is assigned.
if you check under developer tools the detailed status says: "Grant initiated" and I don't really know what this means .
Still waiting for update and I have to travel to India in two weeks and worried with current timelines .

My status says Grant initiated and it dint move from that status since march 04. I was wondering if you can update timelines of these status as well .
And why did your passport dispatched from delhi. was it not printed in Canada Indian Embassy ?
How long did it take .
I had applied for my wife's and daughter's passport renewal together. We got my wife's passport last week but daughter's is still in progress. I had received an email saying that the police verification had initiated and the police did get in touch with relatives back in India. The status on passport portal has been "Print has been initiated" for about a week now.
Didnt do any follow ups yet. My wife already had a PCC processed last month and that is likely why they didnt initiate a police verification for her.
