Awesome! Which province/city are you planning for? What is your job situation like, if you are comfortable sharing?
I'm a UX Designer too, yet to find a job. Planning for Toronto or neighbouring areas.
I qualified via OINP so I am thinking of being either in Mississauga/Etobicoke (GTA) or Waterloo/Kitchener/Cambridge.
Been networking a little with people on LinkedIn but everyone suggested not to approach for a job unless I have a date when I can be available to join.

Now I am planning to start talking to folks about prospective job openings that I can apply for.

Try this website called Adplist. You can network with designers there and then try to get references for jobs. Having a job alert on LinkedIn is also a great way to keep track of jobs.

And ofcourse have a good portfolio/resume.

All the best man.

Your COR and PNP nominating province?
My suggestion would be to get a re-med and upload it via webform. This will force a VO to look at your file. The most you stand to lose is INR 5K/6K ($85-100) if they fail to link medical to your account.
But this depends on your COR and PNP province too. It seems OINP are processed faster than others.
COR: INDIA
PNP: OINP
I dont have any issue in getting remedicals but what if the VO didn't look in to my profile again sooner, as it seems like he has parked mine where he is not looking fwd to pick them early. I will loose medicals validity unnecessarily. Also the validity of landing is associated with medicals expiry. I have seen messages from people who did upfront medicals submitted them but didn't received any update for next 6 months, bit on contrary one who has received remedicals request, for them its update im 2-3 working days.

For those who are about to send the package, make sure the photo dimensions are correct. My consultant told me that few packages were returned, because the photos were not as per specifications

Same here! I was asking for RPRF payment screenshot, amount which have to be paid at the time of submitting application?
In the instructions they state Only if you didn't pay it upfront you need to provide the receipt now.
I paid everything upfront, but I'm sending it anyways. Just in case...

You can try websites like VanHack to try get a job before landing.
Thanks bud! We had already discussed this and yes this portal is quite helpful.

All good points! I guess we can truly start looking once we have the landing information handy. I am focusing on portfolio and connections are of now. Will think about interviews later. All the best bud!!
