Hi everyone,
I’m just knowing this new rule for application before Sept 7th 2021.
Backgrounder: I applied for my mom’s extension of TRV last July 2021. She’s already here. Do I need to do something or follow the new rule and re- submit? Her stay here is valid up until August of this yr, I’m assuming she’s on implied status till her application gets finalized?
TIA!

To whom it may concern

I was experimenting with the new IRCC portal. It considers Super Visa as a type of Visitor Visa. In the application there are specific options to choose Super Visa, Vistor Visa and family reunification.

The following are the available options in the IRCC portal.
Options in new IRCC Portal

I think that applications will be processed faster if the options in the above screenshot falls under the options listed in New applications post September 7. For me, choosing the following option automatically creates form for visitor visa.
  • to be reunited with an immediate family member who is a Canadian citizen, a person registered under Canada’s Indian Act or a permanent resident of Canada
While choosing the following creates application for Super Visa.
  • To visit my children or grandchildren for more than 6 months (super visa)
I might choose family reunification option (the first one) if I decide to resubmit application as that might expedite the process as it falls under the new rule change instructions.

Hello,

If you choose "to unite with immediate family member..." (option 1), wouldn't that mean Visitors visa?
When you choose them, does it gives the option to submit documents like sponsorship etc which was only available when supervisa was selected in gckey options?

Hi, I am looking to apply for visitor visa of my parents. I am a Canadian ciizen. My parents do not have any travel history. My father is retired and mother is a homemaker. They do not have a property on their name in India. I am looking for someone who have been in similar situation and had TRV approved. Can anyone provide me a list of documents to be submitted and how much funds do they need to show (given there is no property proof)?

Thanks!

Hi! You can submit a travel exemption webform for a visa application already in progress. The essence of this form is to let them know you’re reuniting with a family member so their application could get prioritized/processed.

eTA is only needed for people who don’t require visas to come to Canada. If your parents’ visa applications are still processing, you can submit a travel exemption webform and include your proof of status/residency and a duly completed, signed and notarized form for Application for Authorization and Statutory Declaration https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/documents/pdf/english/kits/forms/imm0006e-2020-10-09.pdf

Good luck!
This helped a lot. Thanks a lot for your quick response. I'll go through the info/docs, fill in the travel exemption webform and keep my fingers crossed to see a positive update on my parents application soon :)
