@legalfalcon - I hope you are doing well. Quick question for you - can I travel outside the country and come back 10 days before the expiry of my work permit? Will there be any issues while getting back inside Canada?

My PR application is still in process and I haven't seen my wife for 18 months now. I can't wait for IRCC anymore and would like to go overseas.

This is entirely incorrect. It is true that your spouse can land, but will not be allowed to enter Canada as PR, since the primary applicant is not a PR yet.

Though this is written in detail in the processing manuals and the port of entry examination manual, in brief this is the IRCC response:

POE examination manual is available at https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/resources/manuals/enf/enf04-eng.pdf

Also, please be advised that call centre agents do not provide legal advice and many on the forum share info claiming to be have pseudo titles such as professional ATIPer etc. and peddling incorrect information.

When you have an issue, always rely on WRITTEN information available on IRCC website, or consult a LICENSED lawyer.
@legalfalcon thank you so much for your reply!
I read the Page 55 section 12.13 of the POE manual, but do you think this clause covers the odd situation of people like us in Covid 19 who are in canada and confirming their Pr Status online at a portal. Meanwhile, dependents travels to canada and try to complete landing. As the PA is already inside Canada, then what objections or verification BSO would do to PA or dependent arriving before a PA who is situationally residing in canada with approved application. This is so confusing!
what do you think about it sir?

I am not able to understand completely so i posted here someone can explain us in detial.
As far my understanding, they got new instructions to process files in certain sections.
Also i saw on facebook, some outland candidate whose copr expired due to lockdown not able to land canada, they got ultimatum email from ircc.
I hope like me who are waiting for ppr have some sort of good news.
