That wouldn't be much of a problem since I'm sure a lot of people, if they don't get into the streams would be cancelling or postponing their testing dates in order to get high enough scores for the stream. The only reason there is a registration craze for the english tests is because of the relatively low score required. Some of these people dread those exams too much to take them on a whim.

Do you have new info regarding taking a picture?
I heard it needs a specific size of picture to apply it.
I am not sure what size it is.

I predict there will be a number of cancellations for test spots once the cap is reached. People who won't qualify for CEC for some time and who booked solely for this pathway may not want to risk their IELTS/CELPIP expiring before they reach the points requirement and end up paying full price for two tests.
I've read on a couple forums people were having their IELTS tests arbitrarily cancelled due to overbooking.

I see that as a possibility, especially having to deal with restrictions regarding covid etc. Speaking test was atleast changed 3 times for me last week.

Now that most test spots for IELTS and CELPIP have been taken until August, what will happen to people looking forward to applying for CEC during summer? Those who don't have their tests yet will either have to travel to take them or wait until they can take them to enter the EE pool.

I assume that at least a solid 50% of the applicants for these streams don't meet the requirements for CEC, otherwise, with the current cutoff scores, they'd have already applied or should be ready to apply soon. If the current CEC draws continue taking in 5000 people, the cutoff score will end up going to the high 300's range.
A friend of mine was going to apply for CEC in July, he had held off his IELTS/CELPIP at the last minute. He now has gotten a date late September.

once the restrictions in Ontario lift a little, I suspect there will be more spots available.
Having said that, I believe (my own speculations) that OINP’s new system will be released this week. If that happens, more strain will be put on IELTS/CELPIP website and the seats whatever come available will be taken immediately.

Fingers crossed, 99% chance they're gonna update/release some critical info on their website regarding the new pathways ;)

Could be background testing of the new program as they have mentioned it will have its own portal. If it’s that, its a good step. They should properly stress test the site (after witnessing IELTS and CELPIP site crash) for the load that is to come lol.

I still believe it would crash. But it's good that they are getting ready.
Same, I hope the CELPIP and IELTS sites crash for 3 days was a good indicative for them of the volume of potential applicants they should be expecting when the stream opens. I hope they also clarify some things, misinformation has been spreading like crazy and if they wait until May 6th it's going to be a chaos, it'd be better if they posted a full announcement or they made the portal public with all the "how to apply" details but without the "start your application" button/page just to test the waters and functionality

The most illogical aspect of this program is this info:

Intake caps will be counted by the number of times the “Submission Button” is pressed.
Source

It makes no sense. If they want 90 thousand people, this is not the way to do it. They should accept as many people as possible then check for eligibility. The first 90 thousand eligible candidates should have their application processed.

Like this, they're going to get at least 10 thousand ineligible candidates who are desperate and that's going to take the opportunity away from people who are eligible but need a few days to get their documents together.

It just seems very strange and unfair. If you're going to make it like this, why not announce the project 30 days before opening it? I have all of my documents ready but I'm stressing like crazy because what if something happens on that day and I have to submit on the 7th? I'm just going to loose my spot to desperate people who are not going to get selected anyways.

It did say a complete application needs to be submitted at time of application, so I’d imagine any sane person would not submit it unless they have all the specified documents. Like why waste 1000+ and misrepresent yourself in an immigration application y’a know

They're basically giving away PR. Some weren't able to secure a NOC A or B position after graduation, some were laid off because of Covid and couldn't accumulate enough hours to meet CEC requirements...There are many reasons why people are desperate to apply and immigrating to Canada has never been so easy.

We're talking about people with unskilled occupations and a pretty basic English getting PR while FSW need to be under 30, have a Bachelor's + Master, English proficiency and 3 years of skilled work experience to even get close to the EE all program draws cutoff. Even with Canada's immigration targets this is a once on a lifetime opportunity.
