Oh man, I'm jealous, also currently living in Massachusetts, can't wait to move to Canada.
When are you planning to relocate? Once you move, I'd like to hear your story.
Also, what's your AOR?
Hi.. send me a private message and we can exchange email or something and keep in touch. I'm shooting for Wednesday this week.

good luck buddy. I am also planning to move by end of April. I never thought I would get COPR. Have to take care of all my affairs here and move.
On Friday it's been a year since my eligibility was passed. Everything else is passed since November. I am losing the last bits of hope that I ever get a CoPR. Congrats on yours! Good luck with your move!

Yeah buddy. I had not logged into portal since October. I find myself to be lucky to have gotten the PPR and approval this year. I had even stopped thinking about Canada, moved on and started looking for job in US.

You will get yours soon. What is your country of residence?

I'm currently in the US and my H1B has been approved last August. Came here on F1 with my family in 2017. Applied for Express Entry in 2019 prior to my company even started the H1B process, but luckily won the lottery in 2020.
Still, with all the hurdles and stress of the US immigration system (my family's H4 cases still pending, unable to travel back home and visit family for 3 years already), can't wait to come to Canada and start a "normal" life there.

My US visa is expiring soon and it's been 3 months since I sent my passport to cpc Ottawa. I can not file change of status as my h1 is caping out 6 years. Does anyone know what to do in this situation?

Please confirm with USCIS, but there is generally a 180 "grace period" after your US status expiry, meaning these 180 days don't count towards your "unlawful presence", even though you're out of status once your H1B expires.

Also, you can always file a change of status to B1/B2 regardless of your H1B situation, or basically apply for ANY change of status, it can even be NIW green card, anything to keep your status pending as an "authorized stay". USCIS is experiencing huge delays and backlogs now, so it should keep you covered till you get your passports back from Ottawa

Thank you for the response. Wouldn't this be considered as an emergency/urgent situation to get back PP from CPC?

Visa Office......
Ottawa
It's been one week since my application was approved. My return label is not activated yet. Did anyone faced similar situation where the application was approved but didn't receive the passport immediately or within 3-4 days ? .. It's now four months since i sent my passport originally. I was a bit relieved after seeing my application approved last week but now getting frustrated as they haven't initiated my passport return.

Same situation here. I see in PP tracker, some people with same approval day have gotten their passport already. My tracker is not even activated.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you guys know that I did my landing on the Queenston Bridge port of entry yesterday in Niagara falls and it was very smooth. That have a new procedure now because of covid. I just drive thro the booth and they asked a few simple questions and gave me a yellow slip and told me to park the car somewhere and wait that someone would come and talk to me in the car. But the time I got to the parking area someone was already waiting for me and took my passport and CoPR and told me to wait in the car. A few minutes later the officer came to the car, asked me some questions and asked me to sign the CoPR and write the address for my card to be mailed. After that I waited a few more minutes while he processed everything and then came back and congratulated me gave me my CoPR and passport back to go and do the import of my car and also to present the list of goods to follow. Once that was done all I had to do was to take my covid test with the health team over there and then I was good to go. Pretty simple.
Happy to be permanent resident of Canada now.
Good luck to everyone!

Wohoo! Congratulations! Big relief, isn't it?

Quick question. Would you be staying in a state authorized hotel until your Covid test comes?

Also, question for the group. How are you guys taking or planning to move your cash from US to Canada? I live in Memphis, TN and there is no Canadian bank in Memphis unfortunately.

Also, better to take your car with you or sell it and buy one from there? I mean is it worth going through the pain of paper work and all? Asking because mine is an old Honda Civic 2014.

Quick notes for your questions:
- If you arrive by land you don't need to stay at the hotel till results are out. Only by air.
- look if you have TD bank close to you. I found out last month that if I have a US td bank account and open a canadian td bank account (which I'll do after quarantine) you can access both through the same app and transfer money back and forth without without fees.
- as for the car it's a fairly simple process. I can share the steps with you through a message. Your car just need to be paid and not financed and if you're planing on driving it up you have to stop at the us customs boarder to do the export before entering canada. There are no import fees for any good you bring to Canada with your landing if you move permanently. You just can't sell the car for the first year. Only fees are registration fee but that you'll have to pay of you buy a car here as well. I decided to bring my car, one because I was in massachusetts and wanted to drive up and two because cars are more expensive here than US.
