Even the CIC portal is acting funny now. Doesn't log in until a minimum of 3-4 attempts.
Got a ghost update yesterday. But nowadays it means nothing so am not getting my hopes up.

Even if a PPR does come now, the following deterrents are still there:
1. Pre March 18 PPRs allowed
2. The 2000 CAD per person fee after landing
3. Jobs availability and settling

They should think of something like a phased entry..

You are right.. Phased entry would have reduced their workload. Their backlog is going up and up. I don't understand the 18th March travel restriction, it's almost a year now and they couldn't come up with a practical solution in this looooong time.

Hello @legalfalcon

Thank you for all you do!
Pls I am one of March 2020 AOR. Expecting PPR. I just got a re-medical request for 4 members out of family of 5. What happened was that we had our medical in April last year, but my spouse’s medical delayed d confirmation of medical due to the scar on her lungs due to past Tuberculosis issue(she had to do further X-ray and tests). We were later confirmed to Pass Medical and uploaded on our profile on Dec 2nd 2020.

I am kinda surprise to receive a re-medical request for d remaining four members of d family(excluding my spouse).

is this normal for other members to receive re-medical request when, the “Medical Passed” was just uploaded on our IRCC portal in December 2020?

should we go ahead and do the medicals for the four members of the family?

pls I await your informed response. Thank you

The medicals are valid for one year. They have to be valid when your application is being processed and also when your land in Canada.

If you meds have expired or are about to expire, they will be sent for reassessment, and a determination on whether to ask for re-med of extend them will be made.

Since your spouse's medicals were done later, they will be valid for longer than your and thus only 4 out of 5 family members have bene asked for re-meds.

hey guys, I have a serious question:
do you think IRCC would cancel our applications in the future? I mean, canceling overseas applications from late 2019 to 2020.
here is what I think: maybe too much backlog for IRCC to process, and they think that would be impossible for them to process all these cases due to limited capacity. Even the majority of Canadians can be vaccinated, let's say, some time of coming summer, IRCC starts FSW draws again, they might just process the new applications rather than ours.
Maybe they think, since you have been waiting for over one year, maybe you have changed your mind about immigrating to Canada, so just let's cancel your applications.
How do you guys think? Do I worry too much or it is also possible?

We already talked about this issue a few months ago in this same thread ; the conclusion is it is possible but very very unlikely; because guys from 2019 and 2020 are parts of the 1 million immigrants target in a span of 3 or 4 years whatsoever.

Another reason is that they are still working on applications; they are just giving more priorities to applications over others; mine for example have been in process for 11 months and I just received an ADR like one month ago when I thought my application is on complete hold; it s not the case ; they are just working with priorities based on their own set of criteria and at their own complete discretion.

It would be insane to cancel 100 000 applications from 2019 and 2020 which they have been working on for so long, that would be a complete loss of time, ressources and money.

This is my biggest fear as well. However, I hope this is not going to happen because this would mean they would have to refund all the fees as well. Cancelling applications might be simple enough, but refunding money takes a lot more resources, not talking about the fees, but managing the whole refund process in accordance with financial rules, regulations and oversight.

If you want you can do the medicals yourself before they ask. I do not think it is particularly helpful, but it is possible and it is what I was suggested to do by an agent during my last call (today).
