Hello @kayvee29 ,

I've got request on 1st of February for remeds and the duration window was 90 days.
And the validity of meds till March 2021 was auto extended meds which were extended on September 2020. So basically my meds were valid till March 2021 but still I've got remed request on 1st February.

Thanks,
Pratik.
Hi Pratik,

This sounds interesting. Even before the expiry of the valid medicals, they have asked for remed. I strongly feel that they might start issuing PPR and they are getting ready with all the docs in place. As per GCMS notes what the status of your file( approved and COPR generated/ File ready for approval)?
Wish you all the best. Please keep posted to this group about your status updates.

Thanks.

Hello,

i also got a request for remeds on DEC 30th 2020, but my copr had expired on DEC 4th 2020. They gave me an extension until 27th of Feb 2021 or the option to redo medicals if i plan on landing after the extension date they have given me so that they can issue a new copr - so i did my medicals on Jan 16th 2021 and passed them on Jan 27th - after that no updates.

I think to get PPR you need to have at least 3 months left on your medical.

Hey @kayvee29 ,
Thank you so much for giving me hopes. As I'd received my GCMS notes in August so far. At that time my application didn't approved. So for current scenario I haven't any knowledge about my application regarding approval or anything.
Thanks for your wishes.
Regards,
Pratik.

I got my re-med request too. My medical expired in Dec 2020 and just received request from IRCC today. My AOR is Jan 2020. Don’t know if they will issue PPR when the new medical check result available.

did they mention they would in the letter they sent you?

They clearly mentioned to me that they will issue a new copr AND visa.

Canada has extended Travel Restrictions till 21 March 2021 for US and till 21 April 2021 for Other countries... Now, this is really annoying !!

https://www.cicnews.com/2021/02/canada-extends-travel-restrictions-one-month-for-u-s-travellers-two-months-for-everyone-else-0217185.html#gs.tr7hra
I guess until a sizable percentage of the population is vaccinated these restrictions may keep continuing. Hopefully things start to get better by Q3/Q4 this year. Fingers crossed!

If this is they strategy they should be able to calculate when to open the border and give outlanders a reasonable deadline. Extending one month at the time does not make any sense, unless their main goal is to irritate people.

Yeah I agree. They should have just extended till September and be done about it. It's the hope that kills.
