CRS of 478, I'm not really sure if it would be wise to enroll to some one year program in Canada, they are giving students visa in just a month.... but it is true that I won't be able to find any spot in a program before the September intake... I'm not really sure about what to do...
The latest intake you can try is SEP intake for that you should be able to apply by end of August. Also note that now international students can do online classes till 31 Dec'21 from their home country

There is one catch here, "When Travel Resumes" and I feel it's not going to happen anytime soon. Currently the travel restrictions are in effect. Yesterday it was announced that International Students can study online till 31 Dec 2021 from their home country. So I will not be surprised now if they continue only with CEC draws till Canada is opening their border.
Correct. We don’t know when travel will resume. The travel restrictions are getting stricter as Canadians are fed up with some people (including government officials) trying to bend the rules and still travel for non essential reasons. Even Canadian snow birds are facing the the same hefty quarantine fees in order to return home.

so until everyone’s vaccinated (by everyone, I mean those who want to get vaccinated), Canada might not be relaxing travel restrictions any time this year. I’d be happy to be proven wrong though.

by doing the last CEC draw, Canada is hitting multiple birds with one stone: 1) meeting their immigration target, 2) getting a huge windfall of application fees (in light of the money they won’t be getting back from CERB), 3) not adding people who may want to travel to Canada (EE applicants who may be approved this year and want to settle), 4) easier to verify EE applications (since IRCC only needs to verify Canadian work experience and language exams).

Well welcoming new immigrants doesnt necessarily means sending invites... It has to mean actual landings of immigrants which regardless of ita's can start only after travel restrictions are lifted...
As far as i know canadian economy is fueled by immigrants...as of now there are empty houses on sale fow law rates due to no influx of outland immigrants... In some instances houses are available rent free for 2-3 months...students are starting to opt for partial studies online as it relieves them of 2000 dollars mendatory quarantine and more... So unless they want to completely jam the cogs of otherwise good going economy they wont stop immigrations pathways for months and months...in case of outland candidates they already have a gap of 3 4 months from last year cec only spree...

I'm scared that when they do open doors for us... There will be a massive influx of newcomers and unemployment will skyrocket. Won't be able to find a job for months.
There can some increased competitions... But with more influx the economy needs increase...more food..more educations.
More everyday stuff..which inturn gives rise to employment... People land there and buy houses which creates a need for more houses..and so on

Canadian economy doesn't seem like it's doing well. Resorting to mass ITAs for RPRF isn't a good sign.

It will take a miracle to vaccinate everyone by end of Sep'21 given the current rate. Despite what government is saying it would take a lot of things to go right to acheive this. Is it possible .. yes? Is it probable .. I would say very low probability. For sake of everyone though I hope I'm wrong.
It's fairly probable. US will start to export vaccine at some point, and Canada will be the top of the list. Vaccination will be very slow, then happen all of a sudden.

Maybe toronto house market, cause everywhere else the house market is a bidding war! Not enough houses for sale.

And at this point, the Feds are aiming to have that vaccination goal met by September. I hope it remains that way.

I would hate to get into the CEC vs FSW debate. But all these people worrying about "it is bad for Canada's future".

May I please request you to fix your country's future first? before worrying about some foreign country. :D

My heart goes to people who are loosing points because of age. Pandemic is to blame NOT cec candidates who are working for their scores just like you.

Anyway not gonna indulge into this discussion anymore.
Bro, nobody is blaming CEC for anything so please dont bring that rubbish here. You're trying to cause confusion and unnecessary arguments and you know it.

exactly. "welcoming skilled workers from abroad when travel resumes"
this doesn't mean they wont send ITAs until the travel restrictions resume.

Thank you! Yes, I know I have 1 year as required, but since I claimed 2 years I’m worried for this part... that 1 freaking day :(
Well, in total you still have more than two years. Anyway, if I'm not mistaken there is no difference between one year and two year. You get more points for three.

It's going to be a humongous task, but I don't agree it will take a miracle to achieve the target. The vaccinations are going to ramp up in the next few weeks and they are going to ramp up fast. They have ordered enough vaccines and they have the infrastructure to administer the vaccines at this scale, so we should continue to be optimistic . The current sluggish rates are due to unforeseen supply chain issues, which seem to be largely behind us. I continue to believe there will be large scale vaccinations of the general population in Summer, with steeply decreasing deaths and hospitalizations, which only bodes well for outlanders. No need to despair, there is light at the end of the tunnel!
