Hi guys. I have landed in Canada on Tuesday with my family and currently in quarantine in Ottawa. We took Ethiopian Airline and there was no issue. To board from Nigeria, you need to present your COVID-19 test results and ensure you have the same with you at the POE. All the CBSA asked for was our COPR, arriveCAN and address for quarantine. We were required to sign in daily into the arriveCAN to give report of our health situation while in quarantine. Best of luck guys.

No, I didn’t get any authorization. I just carried my bag and family and we travelled. We were jittery at the POE but there was no issue at all. There were also 3 other Nigerian families and we were all welcomed to Canada by the CBSA guys after our landing formalities.

Thank God for journey mercy and favour. Please advise did you book a return ticket when you were leaving?
An agent said it is a must for COPR holders.

When you are not a student? The agent wants to use you to make money. Although, i always encourage buying a return ticket as it is "cheaper" but i don't think it is a must.

Safe trip, kindly keep us posted on the new govt travel restrictions that one should quarantine in a govt approved hotel which I heard is about $2000. I don’t know if that applies to first timers landing . Thanks

Have you tracked it? The have a customer care number on their platform too... Contact them first...

That is part of the issue. No tracking number from VFS. So how do I go about it?

Contact VFS via chat since there number is usually hard to connect... They need to give you a tracking number

Had the same problem, contacted VFS via web chat and got my tracking number, tracked with UPS and saw that they were having issues with my address, when they failed to.deliver the next day, I asked where my package was and they said UPS Gbagada, had to go there to collect my package. I guess your package will be at Gbagada, just get your tracking number from VFS and go there, that is assuming you stay in Lagos.

So I entered Canada last week Thursday ....some of my goods ( fish,meat and milk)were seized. The reason is because I disclosed that I have them in my bags while filling the form. So I will advice you click all no in the form if they ask you if u have any food in your bag( they won’t check ) . No one has been turned back yet, so you are welcome

It’s even a very sensitive period to be traveling with food especially things not produced in Canada or already available there. Leave your dairy, meat etc
Also don’t lie about anything on your first entry or even any entry you can be fined and that goes into your record.

I have no plans of going with dairy, meat, fish but plan to go with condiments ( blended melon, crayfish, ogbono, cameroon pepper...)

Correct and the penalty for a false declaration at the airport isn't worth you... you could be fined more than 1000 CAD or charged to court. Some times they do not check but not worth the risk. Powered milk are always seize by immigration at most airport, while when it comes to meat and all... ensure they are properly fried and well packed. you might get away with it after declaration.

Is dried fish and stock fish also considered contraband?? Didn't know fish was also not allowed.
