So I just spoke to my friend after watching her Snapchat. She landed with her husband last week before these new measures announced yesterday. She said it’s the airlines that are really enforcing the travel restrictions for Post Mar 18 CoPR. She said KLM cancelled their flights and they rebooked on Ethiopian airlines who let them board. She said passing through the border was no hassle. Now I guess after yesterday’s announcements we have to wait to see if any one passes without hassle.

Can you ask her what the reason for cancellation was and also at point what point was the flight cancelled?... I am asking because we were going to use KLM...

Correction she said KLM had cancelled all flights then not that they cancelled theirs. So i'll say check in with KLM that they have flights to CA.

You know the time spent reviewing people’s experience which by the way shows people are traveling, you can call up CBSA and ask.
You can even read further news on which airlines have been restricted.

Most travelers use ET so why go with another airline you aren’t certain of?

Canadavisa won’t give you the information you need. Join post-PPR WhatsApp groups and find out what others have done and are doing.

When no flight was leaving Nigeria around July 2020 it took my bestfriend 48hours to pay for a ticket with ET and leave because they had little or no options available then.

You can’t come this far and be saddled with uncertainty and waiting for the first whiff of ‘bad news’.

If you are ready to travel , join a community. No man is an island.

What community are you referring to? Seems you have a different source of info! I will ask for as much info and experience from others who have landed or other who know people that landed successfully.. there is nothing wrong with that. The story about KLM just came up today, why would anyone want to make a bad decision if they have prior info?

People are flying in and out, I know someone who recently went to Canada using Ethiopia air from Nigeria (no issues faced) and also someone is coming back to Nigeria Next weekend with his flight already booked. The major concern should be for those traveling with a visitor's visa. Having a PR anywhere in the world gives you a bit of an advantage over certain restrictions.

Check up on your airline and ensure you are good to go.. Worst case.. once you arrive Canada there would be a mandatory imposed quarantine.. and not a cancellation or repatriation.

Hi guys. I have landed in Canada on Tuesday with my family and currently in quarantine in Ottawa. We took Ethiopian Airline and there was no issue. To board from Nigeria, you need to present your COVID-19 test results and ensure you have the same with you at the POE. All the CBSA asked for was our COPR, arriveCAN and address for quarantine. We were required to sign in daily into the arriveCAN to give report of our health situation while in quarantine. Best of luck guys.

No, I didn’t get any authorization. I just carried my bag and family and we travelled. We were jittery at the POE but there was no issue at all. There were also 3 other Nigerian families and we were all welcomed to Canada by the CBSA guys after our landing formalities.
