Same boat!

Single applicant, CoPR issued on 15th March, 2020 and it expired in July 2020.

Sent travel and quarantine plan in August, followed up with Webforms and received only generic responses so far, multiple GU's in the last few weeks.

Only change I see is the switch between background check and medical passed with dates that were there Pre-PPR.

The signs of progress from Delhi VO or any other working VO is good but not sure how officers are picking applications to review and process for expired CoPR holders?

Thoughts??
Mine copr expired may 13.

I am also observing the same kind of GUs in my account but nothing solid. COPR expired in June

Okay so I called IRCC from Canada and added my husband to the call then I went on mute, after waiting time of 32 minutes we were connected with the agent. The agent only said that my husbands file is in NDVO and they have received all the informatiom that we provided in 4 point email and all we forms . When we asked that whether we shud go for upfront medicals she said at this time they don’t need anything. They also said that IRCc informed ndvo on 24 nov about our latest web form that we sent but can’t tell us the timelines. She also said that ndvo is prioritizing the applications based on the content and urgency of an application and that at this point of time we can’t do anything to expedite the process and should only wait. Even when we mentioned that we are family class and it’s about reunification she said ALs or remeds will be sent as per ndvo set criteria. The only word that made sense was WAIT . And we are done doing that . Such a disappointment

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I think I also have the same case. Did you sponsor your husband?

No point in communicating with IRCC, files will move somewhere late in first quarter 2021 when they will have sufficient vaccines shots assuming there is no adverse impact of the vaccine ! Don't be surprised when they start cancelling expired/rejecting COPR for some flimsy reasons ! The most comical part is that they will increase/approve Chinese Visas ASAP !! ;)

I think it's a matter of opinion, don't think they'll ever cancel expired COPR because all said and done, Canada is a fair country. I've spoken to a lot of my friends there and the situation is grim, even survival level jobs which are the staple for most new immigrants and college students are very scarce. Given the sitaution, I think the government is doing the best it can, given the resources and information available at the time.

Yes, they are issuing new PRs but they aren't allowed to land yet. All in all, there are maybe 20-25k (upper limit or 6 rounds of 4k PRS) people with an expired COPR in the world which is a drop for the total number of immigrants Canada wishes to achieve. More than likely, we will be issued a blanket extension when all of this calms down.

As for the Chinese Visas, this is true all over the world. China and its' people have the most amount of money to invest, their ulterior motives maybe suspect but money is money and that is what countries need right now as they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Sorry for the long post, intention was not to argue or preach but when you said "Don't be surprised when they start cancelling expired/rejecting COPR for some flimsy reasons " it rubbed me off the wrong way.

Unfortunately, no one of us is the center of the IRCC universe right now irrespective of the problems we each have due to this situation. The pandemic was unprecedented and no country in the world was equipped to deal with it, Canada included.
