Hello Vivek and anyone who has submitted passport renewal.

Can you please share details on the process if you have used it for postal renewal:

1. How much fees to be paid. Website says 110.40 as one place and Courier charges to be added at another spot so not sure. Also How much is the fees for minor (below 15). Again getting confusing information on multiple pages so appreciate these minor details.
At New Passport-Renewal of Passport | New Passport-Renewal of Passport with BLS International (blsindia-canada.com) it says
" Kindly Provide Postal order only in favor of BLS International Services Canada Inc., which includes Passport fee+ consular surcharge + BLS Service charges + Return courier fees, to send back your processed application.
"

At Toronto-Passport-Re-Issue-Checklist.pdf (blsindia-canada.com) check list it says

"FEES: Refer to fee schedule at: http://www.blsindia-canada.com/passport.php  For Mail In / Postal Applications(WE DO NOT ACCEPT TATKAAL PASSPORT APPLICATION BY POSTAL) - Enclose a certified cheque/Bank draft, in favor of ‘BLS International Service Canada Inc.’ to include: o HCI/CGI Passport Fee. o ICWF Consular Surcharge Fee. - Enclose a separate certified cheque/Bank draft, in favor of ‘BLS International Service Canada Inc.’ to include: o BLS Processing Fee. o Add: Return Courier charges "

2. Who should these be addressed Is it "BLS International Services Canada Inc. " ? It says Demand Draft , Certified Cheque or Postal Order at different places so which on is it?

3. How did you pay for Return Postal fees? Is it to be clubbed with the above fees?

4. Do we need separate payment per individual or they can be clubbed for family?

5. Do we need to courier one package for all family members or its individual by applicant?
Thanks so much for help.

Hi All,

Can someone help me with my queries related to reissuing passport for minor from Toronto.. Below are my questions. Kindly help;

1. As per the BLS website, only postal application is accepted due to covid. When sending the postal application do we need to send any original other than our existing passport? I'm keeping a self attested copy of all the other documents. Should we send the original of PR card and landing document?
2. Are the fees paid in the form of DD?
3. How to sign the annexure form for minor? Can a parent sign it on behalf of the minor?
4. I'm unable to access the link in BLS for forms and checklist. Does anyone have a copy of the forms and document checklist?

Please help..

Regards
Alma

Hello,

I am an Indian citizen and a Canada FSW PR residing in Montreal (Ottawa HCI jurisdiction) trying to renew my passport expiring in early-Feb-2021.
Note: My preference is to get Tatkal-Jumbo passport.

Please help to answer my below query regarding addresses-only pending item that is unclear as different staff of BLS interpret it differently.

-My current passport has my permanent address in India -same address as current passport-as PR here, can I choose to retain my India address as the address to print on passport? If yes, what proof should I submit for this?

-For ‘Other address’ can the India address be repeated or should I give my Montreal address? If yes, what proof should I submit for this?

Note: I don’t have Quebec driving license, but have Quebec RAMQ Health Insurance card + accompanying letter as address proof.

I have been living in Airbnb rentals since Jan this year as I wanted to move out of Quebec to other English-speaking province-can provide full date-wise trip printouts and payment receipts from Airbnb

I can also submit bank statements with current address from 2 banks.

Please suggest which proof is required and would be acceptable to HCI Ottawa.

Thank you for your kind help with this.

If it helps anyone, here is my experience with Toronto Consulate.
I am living in Quebec City and I figured out that I have lost my passport somewhere towards end of September.
Sep 26 - Emailed and sent twitter message to Toronto consulate regarding lost passport.
Sep 28 - Filed lost passport report with Quebec Police and got acknowledgement and a copy of sworn statement.
Sep 29 - HCI responded on email that Police report in French, report acknowledgement and sworn statement (in English) would suffice as long as old passport number is clearly mentioned.
Sep 29 - Sent document request email to Quebec Police (SLA 1 month).
Oct 30 - Quebec Police provided the police report.
Nov 3 - Sent package to BLS.
Nov 5 - BLS Status changed to processing at HCI. Government website had a similar status.
Nov 21 - Sent email to HCI regarding no change in status.
Nov 21 - Response from embassy that it is being processed currently.
Nov 22 - Police verification email recieved.
Nov 23 - Police verification completed at home in India.
Nov 27 - Government status changed to "Print has been initiated".
Dec 7 - Email and twitter message sent to HCI that printing has not completed in 10 days.
Dec 8 - Response from HCI that it would be printed soon. In another email also sent a photograph of printed bio page which was printed the same day based on passport issue date.
Dec 9 - Received by BLS
Dec 10-Shipped by BLS.
Dec 11 - Received.

The police report by Quebec Police took the maximum time possible which is very absurd. This could easily be done in 1-2 days max. But that is Quebec.
